I always get a form letter via snailmail in response to emails I've sent my (Oklahoma) Senators. They're Republicans, of course. The letters are always vague but at least on the general topic, which means SOMEONE is reading or at least skimming the emails, and making hatch-marks on some list before initiating whichever process generates the more-or-less correct form letter to me.

I get the "auto-responder" messages from Klintoon's email. That is not a response.

When I sent e-mail to my Senators in Colorado, I always received a real letter in the mail. Many times, it was personal and actually signed. One time, Ben Campbell wrote a personal letter, going in to great detail, his same concerns about the Grand Junction Airport service....stating what he's been upset with and what's he's been trying to do to fix the problem....it was not a mass-mailing letter....it was a specific response to me, personally and, again, signed in ink.
