Khaled Abou Al-Fadl would do well to commit to memory a simple bit of American wisdom: "When you bite the hand that feeds you, don't be surprised if you end up with a mouthful of fist."

Just can't be nice to these people, can we? He saved their butts from the 9/11 outrage, and this is how they thank him?
Yank this guy out.

"The academic also says that Bush seems to favor only an Islam according to American standards."
As opposed to America - hating Taliban or Iranian standards?
Dumbass.

Despite the tough road in Iraq, the Bush appointee feels
that the danger of a U.S.-led invasion of Syria and Iran has not passed He makes it sound like a bad thing.

After the next 9/11-magnitude hit(s) (said to be inevitable by some, although I think they may not be), attacks on terrorist-harboring/sponsoring Syria and Iran may be the soul of moderation.

When an appointee, who is Islamic, is put in a position on the Commission on International Religious Freedom ,why would anyone be suprised when he uses his position to attack the free exercise of religion other than Islam? It would compare to a modern day Carry Nation being hired to conduct tours through the Jack Daniels distillery in Tennesee.Religious freedom in Islamic countries amounts to either following Islam or nothing.
Get used to it: Infidels are no-class citizens in the world of Islam.

President Bush needs to get rid of all of the Clinton hold overs and also this traitor. This traitor belongs with Al Queda locked up in Cuba.

The academic also says that Bush seems to favor only an Islam according to American standards. So, a lot of Freepers have picked up on this slip which reveals so much.
It is time the world got out of its self-righteous mode and came to grips with the notion that America is what it is because we believe in "American standards" and think all other "standards" are inferior or we would have adopted them when their proponents brought them to our shores as immigrants. Those standards we thought superior, we adopted - the rest were found wanting.
Standards are put to a hard test in America: Pragmatism.
One could add, the scientific method, justice and tolerance (now, alas, concepts foreign in the Muslim world) are other hurdles which much be negotiated before one meets "American standards."
The Euroweenies have distorted the American standards, which are the "American" standards because we invented and nurtured them. The Europeans now presume to apply their own distorted versions against us.
They believe they have leepfrogged us, but it would never occurred to them that they were ever behind us.
The Muslim world, or at least the Arab world, if one is to measure it against a Christian timeline, has not yet encountered the Rennaisance.

No amount of trust and good will is enough for an Infidel to escape the disdain, or outright hatred of Islams true believer. It just ain't in them.

"When can Bush yank him?"According to the commission's FAQ page, Bush can appoint a replacement for him May 14, 2005. Each commissioner serves 2 years, with the President appointing 3 and the others appointed by various Congress critters. It's just another feel-good boondoggle anyway.

Despite the tough road in Iraq, the Bush appointee feels that the danger of a U.S.-led invasion of Syria and Iran has not passed I certainly hope not.

This is the very essence of Islamist culture. Good will is interpreted as weakness. Remember, Sadam declared victory in the first Gulf War because he was spared! Islamists need (and actually want) to be overpowered. Otherwise they'll mess not only our lives but also theirs. Expecting gratitude from a Muslim is foolish to the extreme.
