A man who was robbed at gunpoint after pumping gas turned the tables on the gunman, police said, disarming the robber and then beating him with his own weapon.
St. Louis police said the incident occurred about 10:45 p.m. Wednesday outside the 7-Eleven at Gravois and South Jefferson avenues.

Police arrived to find the robber unconscious. The gun, which had been kicked away, was stolen by a passer-by. There's probably a moral of some sort here.

Oh, oh. I smell trouble for the victim. Unnecessary use of violence. This guy's in deep trouble. Shoulda' given the dude his keys, car, and wallet. I'm sure the lawyers are already on their way to sue this poor guy.

"the 7-Eleven at Gravois and South Jefferson avenues."
I used to frequent this 7-11 when I worked on the south side. Nice to know the old neighborhood hasn`t changed much.

If there is a story to report in a seedy part of town, if there`s a gun involved , or a murder , or a policeman shooting some clown, if it is a bank robbery and a car chase , or even a crack house burning down, ....Bill Bryan can be found.

How is this robber going to explain the bumps on his head to his mama? "Mama, I got hit by a car and this is where the headlights got me".
To: laweeks
No doubt about it, the intended victim will be charged with assault as well as sued for damages. That's how topsy turvy we've become. The victim is at fault, you see, if he wasn't oppressing the criminal with his greater prosperity to begin with, he wouldn't have to be robbed.

Just great! No the Brady Bunch will have a case where they can holler, "See, see?!?!? We told you that guns are dangerous because you can be disarmed and left at the mercy of another, who now has your gun!".
Just imagine that old, gun law breaking Mrs Brady screaming that at the top of her lungs.
