i already think the GOP is displaying (politely) an attitude of gratitude.

House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco said. "But the truth of the bill is that it is a boon for HMOs and pharmaceutical companies, and a setback for seniors in our country.''
Does anyone know the facts that Pelosi is using to level this charge?
I had a disabled vet hit me with it the other day and didn't know how to respond.

The RATS will complain and posture about W going to Iraq but the debate question will be "As president would you go in secret to Iraq on Thanksgiving to see your troops"? You got the question wrong: "As president would you sneak away from your redneck and slip into Baghdad on the sly like a coward who is unwilling to face the dangers that the soldiers there face, all because your puppetmaster political advisor told you to?"
Can't wait to see Steph moderate the debates . . .

"Actually, it's the $400 billion dollars/year and perpetuation of the unconstitutional welfare state."
IIRC, it's supposed to authorize $400 billion over 10 years, but that's their estimate. The original estimate of Medicare in the 1960's was much lower than the actual costs.
You can find the numbers mentioned in the 5th paragraph of the following link, although the whole column is a good read.

Thanks for the ping! Hope your holiday weekend is great!

If the ultra liberal rag, SF Chronicle, says things are going good for the GOP, then things must really be great for our side. Thus things must really be bad for the Democrats.
