US troops have allegedly shot dead two young Iraqi sisters near Baqubah, north of Baghdad.
Iraqi police and family members say American troops shot the 12-year-old and 15-year-old as they were collecting wood from a field.
The older girl died on the spot and her sister died later of her wounds.
A policeman claims that US forces handed one of the girls' bodies over to the police "arguing that she had a gun in her possession".
Police searched the family home but found nothing suspicious.
Coalition forces in Iraq are investigating claims, but have declined to make further comment.

It does say "allegedly", right? Oh, never mind. Any allegation against our soldiers has to be true, right?

No babies eaten?
No fuzzy puppies disembowelled?

Surely, you can do better than that.

Pointing it out doesn't mean "celebrating" it. No doubt it was a mistake. But that is precisely the point: this war is a huge mistake, a radical (read: anti-conservative) departure from a policy of prudence, and one that doesn't serve America's authentic national interests in the Middle East. These two deaths symbolize the tragedy -- quite apart from the intent of those soldiers, they have snuffed out two irreplaceable lives. Unless, of course, one considers that Iraqi (or Arab, or Palestinian, or whatever) lives are not worth anything.

"Police searched the family home but found nothing suspicious. "
BS. If this happened, the TROOPS would have searched the home.

Have you forgotten about "Iraqi-zation"?
To: Justin Raimondo
Here ya go. Surely you can twist this one into a real tear-jerker.
This child thought of going outside with an AK-47 all by himself.
Knock yourself out rewriting this one.
IRAQI CHILD SHOT WHILE POINTING AN AK-47 AT U.S. FORCES
AR RAMADI, Iraq Elements of the 1st Infantry Division conducted a mission in Ar Ramadi today. While on patrol, the soldiers witnessed two men with weapons running into a nearby residence. The soldiers followed the men in order to apprehend them for questioning.
Upon approaching the house, a seven-year-old child came out with an AK-47 rifle pointed at the soldiers. A soldier responded in self-defense and shot the child in the foot. The child was rushed to the nearest army medical facility for treatment and further evacuated by air to Baghdad.
This incident is currently under investigation.

But that is precisely the point: this war is a huge mistake, a radical (read: anti-conservative) departure from a policy of prudence, and one that doesn't serve America's authentic national interests in the Middle East. Your contention is silly and illogical. You might as well argue that whenever a policeman mistakenly kills someone that demonstrates that having a police force is a huge mistake.

These two deaths symbolize the tragedy
What really symbolizes the tragedy is the following.....
