Anyone in (or who has been in) the military, and who had duty on a holiday, knows that the commanders that think the most of their people, visit them at their posts on a holiday.
Personally, this happened to me a lot. Most brought home cooked food and treats. One even did some maintenance work while my troops and I (4 of us) had some down time to eat a hot meal. He was Col Payne of the 394th ICBMTMS. That was 30 years ago, I still remember it every Thanksgiving.
I saw it again yesterday in Iraq. Its the troops that keep us free, its leadership that helps them succeed. Support from home is vital. Remember the troops!

That was 30 years ago, I still remember it every Thanksgiving.A similar occurance also happened to me. My commander, "Col. Story's", name is always included in my Thanksgiving table grace to this day.
You and I both know that what Bush did was very important.

What brought tears to my eyes about the President's secret trip was the trust it represented. The Warriors have been so trusted by the Leader that he placed his own life in their secure hands, all for the sake of honoring them! Nothing, no speach from the Oval office, no proclomation from on high, could ever mean more than this to a soldier!
