"Schadenfreude" is a German term that means taking pleasure in another's pain.

okay, now what the heck is schadenfreude and when did this become the lingo in FR? : )I run a Mainstream Media Schadenfreude ping list in which I alert members to examples of the news media getting caught making fools of themselves. I think that's a lot of the reason it's become FR lingo, but the term itself has been around forever and I doubt it was unheard of on FR before I created the ping list.
