BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- U.S. troops weren't the only ones surprised by President Bush's Thanksgiving Day visit to Iraq. The White House press corps was, too. For security reasons, Bush's trip would have been canceled if the information had leaked, so most reporters were kept in the dark.

I think it's sour grapes, because he wasn't one of the "priviledged" ones who knew about the visit.
"There was explosive, euphoric reaction here. These soldiers, men and women, are extraordinarily homesick, so any familiar face from home would have been welcome. And, of course, the president's their commander in chief. So all the more so. "
Trying to diminish -- unsuccessfully -- the impact of President Bush's visit. I am surprised that the title is at least accurate.
But he also acknowledged that the Iraqi people were also happy about it, but then, he had to add another sentence, to try to diminish that too, also unsuccessfully.
"Again, the Iraqi people with whom we spoke were greatly surprised that he came, and I think many of them greatly pleased that he came. Others said that when the president says in Washington that he's made the commitment to stay until the job's finished, it's one thing. When he says it here in Baghdad, it has more meaning. That does not do much to advance the situation here, which remains very, very difficult. "

I just saw a segment on Fox, in which Mr. Tim Sarandon has written a play about, what else, how the war in Iraq is based on fiction, how the military is preventing the news from doing any stories there, and how everything about it is a lie. A Marine called them on the assertions, and all one limp-wristed wastoid actor in the play could reply was "that may be true, and I respect your opinion, but..."
Mr. Sarandon, the steaming pile of waste that he is, just cannot bring himself to even consider criticizing Hussein or Bin Laden.

Has any President ever entered a real war zone?
I know Truman went to Korea, and LBJ went to Vietnam, but I believe both visits were secure and well behind enemy lines. Bush went right into the heart of it.

Nothing to worry about. The anti-Americans will be steam rolled next November.
As to his play, some loosers will like it, but then there is a market for just about anything. A play promoting sex with minors would sell out, in Hollywood!

Calling a press conference to counter Mr. Gillerman's comments, Nasser Al-Kidwa, the Palestinian "observer" at the UN, said the Israeli initiative had never stood a chance.
"It was clear from the beginning that such an attempt would not succeed," he said.
He accused Israel of trying to "achieve a political goal" with its resolution.
But when asked why the Palestinians could not recognize that Israeli children were also suffering, he said: "We have a specific job to do to promote a certain political end."
I loved they managed to tack on something negative to every
sentence.
"Stop with the negative vibes man!"

U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, right, meets with Afghan President Hamid Karzai at Presidential Palace in Kabul, Afghanistan, Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003. Clinton promised that America will stand with Afghanistan as it tries to rebuild after a quarter-century of conflict, and warned Taliban rebels that they "are fighting a losing battle." The reports I've seen on ABC and CNN were so snotty towards President Bush they must have infuriated every American who watched. The media RAT lapdogs are digging their own graves and don't even know it.
I also saw the piece about commie robbins and his anti-American propaganda lies disguised as a "play". What scum.
To: ozzymandus
Robbins and his actors didn't seem very comfortable, having a Fox reporter and a Marine disputing them.

Oh yeah, I loved the part in which Robbins said that he wouldn't do an interview with Fox until after they watched the play. They watched the play and Robbins still wouldn't do the interview.
