What's with the 3-star's expression?

Look at the other pictures. He took off his glasses and is rubbing the bridge of his nose. It's just like in that pivotal scene in the movie Twelve Angry Men when Henry Fonda convinces the jury that the woman witness wears glasses when she didn't in the courtroom, because he saw her rubbing her nose.

Thanks for the ping, Dio!! A fabulous layout of photos of our President with the troops.

I've watched the replays countless times today and tear up every time.....and have a dopey grin on my face at the same time. LOL! What a wonderful gift to the troops, showing up for Thanksgiving. I think it's sooooo cool that he pulled this off!! LOL! I love it!!!!

Read my post again bright boy. I said they have the spin machine ready. Apparently in your war, you don't use advance scouts.

I'm a Bush supporter.

And don't ever use an ad hominem to attack me again. Especially a profanity.

Great pics Dio.

So Hillary is sitting there, all chummy like with the troops. They are looking at her with disdain but of course she does not care. She is poised to come back to America and tell us all how important she is for visiting the troops.

Just then, an aide comes up to her, whispers something in her ear. Something like this. "psst Senator, The President is in Iraq having dinner with the troops."

That is the picture that should be on every magazine.

Sometimes I say something that is prescient, and I later read it and go, "I wrote that?"
*chuckle*

Yes, and today we get to hear them build brick walls in their diapers about it.

I quite agree. Also... can you imagine being in the shoes of the poor soul who was tasked with delivering *that* bit of news? Yikes.

I don't for one minute believe that Bush sought only to upstage Hitlery (his trip was probably being planned long before Her Immenseness decided to swoop down on Afghanistan), but oh, what a lovely bonus. "We give thanks, O Lord, for this bounty..." :-)

If he takes care of Iraq, he will be welcomed here. If not - whether he's here or in the White House - he is of no use to us," said Fadel Hadi, 59, playing dominoes at a teahouse. "If his visit brings us some good, he will be welcome every day."

Hmmm...obviously not a "self-starter" kind of guy. Makes you proud to be an American. In 200 yrs, we accomplished more than any civilazation on earth.

Unfortunately Russell Crowe would be about as bad as James Brolin. After The Gladiator was released, Bill Clinton was supposed to drop by Crowe's hotel room for a visit. Crowe was reportedly estatic at the prospect & he, his parents & girlfriend stayed up all night waiting for Clinton who never did show. The latest Crowe story has him blasting Mel Gibson & The Passion.

I heard someone who knows him saying that that gesture is what he does to "stop the tears". Apparently he was pretty thrilled to see his CinC as well!

A friend of mine reported that his SIL, ex-Marine (and they never are; once a Marine, always a Marine) anyway, he said that his SIL had to wipe away the tears when he saw the Pictures of his CinC crossing the stage in Baghdad!

I've always maintained that Marines become Marines to hide behind the "tough and the ready" because they are the biggest softies. They are tough, but inside they are just big Teddy Bears! I love 'em, so please - don't flame me for these comments. I've just known a lot of them, and they are the same - touch on the outside, big softies on the inside.

In the other photos, it's the guys without names or insignia on their jacket. They're blending but they stand out (which is just fine!)
