[history]
I bring a message on behalf of America: We thank you for your service, we are proud of you and America stands solidly behind you," Bush told about 600 soldiers, who were stunned to see the president emerge from a side door inside a military mess hall at Baghdad International Airport.

A few said they cancelled holiday plans because they couldn't stand their families talking about this. Others are physically ill. Beautiful! And now PJ-Comix will be taking leave to enjoy his own Thanksgiving meal. Happy Thanksgiving everybody and enjoy the Turkey and the DUmmies getting the stuffing kicked out of them.

"I loved watching the video of the surprised troops when the "messenger" from backstage came out to deliver the President's message."
I was curious about CNN, and Walt rogers just said, from Bagdahd, that the troops had an "EXPLOSIVE, EUPHORIC, REACTION...when Prfesident Bush came from behid the curtain..."
He then went on to temper his words by reporting how , ..."the troops were surprised to see him, but one yourn soldier said he thought hey had been there too long..."
I don't know who is worse, the reporter, or the soldier?
Thank you , President Bush!

They got freeped and do not have enuf mods to delete pro pres posts:
" CHUDOGG 156. Pathetic Website
I am a soldier. The comments about the President's Visit and the troops who support him are disgusting. This website is beyond conspiratorial and paranoia, and the fact that you people think you are mainstream is bizarre.
Goodluck in 2004, the Communist Party isn't running this year so i guess you'll be forced to choose a democrat, but if the overall opinion on this site represents that of the Mainstream democratic party, it will probably be a landslide.
Just remember that the soldiers in the field right now are much better men (and women) than you, the fact that you turn your backs ont them over a stupid political difference is pathetic."

You don't have to go to DU for comments. Just take a gander at the last paragraph of this AP story "quoting" troops trying to leave the airport after the Presidents visit. -
"But other soldiers grew angry that their departure from the airport was delayed for an hour, while they waited for Air Force One to depart. Finding the door barred, about 50 troops got into a shouting match with the soldier blocking their exit. The streets of Baghdad were too dangerous to delay their departure any longer, they shouted.
"Do you have any idea how many IEDs are on this road?" one soldier shouted, referring to improvised explosive devices or roadside bombs. "I have to get back to my base. I don't want to lose a soldier because the president wants us to sit here."

Thanks. There's so much free-floating new-age "spiritualality" here in Hawaii-the result of too much sun and coconut oil I always thought. Could an ideology actually be a mental illness?

I know what you mean. Politics isw a no-no in my family.
