The SR-71 trainers are distinctive, in that they have a second raised cockpit behind the front cockpit. All SR-71's are two seaters, with the second seat used for navigation and reconnaissance.

Some single seat SR-71s were built and designated Y-12s (CIA planes). There's one on display at an Air Museum in San Diego.
