It's difficult to see exactly what gay issues had to do with the crime. Sounds to me like a severely disaffected person gone postal.

"I put my finger to see if there was any pulse, and it went in a bullet hole in his chest"

Feinstein is an idiot. How do you check a pulse by putting a finger on someone's chest, let alone in a "bullet hole"

She sounds like Jesse hi-Jackson and his "MLK's blood" cry.

A sad story all around. I think Dan White later committed suicide--at any rate, he died some time after completing his prison term. Moscone was a typical Democrat politician who really catered to the gays. There is a convention center in San Francisco now named after him.

He ... can still see the smoke from the mayor's cigarette curling up. "It was awful," he said. "It was shock and panic. You don't know what you can do for him. You scream for the cops, which is what I did."

Smoking kills.

The city was rocked to its roots. "What a bizarre period," Feinstein said.

It's a bizarre city, Dianne.
