I agree totally. Some countries actually WANT us to lose our position of dominance, and are working overtime to "neutralize" us.

Others, are simply third-world dumps, whose dictators enjoy reaping the monetary benefits. Several people DIED as a result of this latest outbreak, and I've no doubt there will be many more. People go to Mexico and religiously follow the "don't drink the water" advice...and then come home and unknowingly buy produce from the same place!

Do you know that produce and meat were supposed to be labeled with country of origin starting in January? On page ten of our paper a couple of days ago, I saw a small article stating that that had been delayed for TWO YEARS! I live in Iowa, so this was kind of a big deal (except for when it was axed, I guess).

IBP (Tyson)was against it, of course. I'm pretty sure that mothers at the store, selecting food for their families, would choose American produce if given a choice. The free-traders are all about consumer "choice," until it might hurt them...and they obviously thought that this would.

Keep up the China debate.

" In an effort to evade U.S. anti-dumping duties, this honey had allegedly been illegally transshipped through third-party countries on its way from China to America."

Just talked with a relative who visited China. Her employer imports all their products from China. She had mentioned that a lot of companies (hers too) are shipping under various names or titles to evade US Customs. It’s news to me, like the above, but I’m not at all surprised.

WHAT, may I ask, is so controversial about that view??

It is the free traitors, I have gotten similiar vitriol for posting similiar opinions. They are driven by an economic dogma that causes them to smear all who disagree, with tactics not unlike the Clintonistas. Which makes perfectly good sense since Clinton signed NAFTA and gave China most favored nation status.

The free traitors some how rationalize that America last is really America first. They believe in promoting foreign slavery to boost wall street profits. They are also OK with economically destroying towns, families, and lives all across America for the sake of economic efficiency, aka lining their own pockets.

Which is why the "country of origin" labels required on produce is such a popular law down here in Florida. Too bad there are some narrow minded morons in D.C. that will not make it a Federal law.
