Allies??? Please. They've put revolving doors on all their jails. They make these big arrests, get the favorable press for a day or two and then when the world's not looking the terrorists either escape OR, as was the case just last month...they promise not to blow anybody else up and they're declared rehabilitated and released.

Sounds like the CIA was involved

Yemeni authorities intensify campaign in Mareb, al-Jouf to arrest, assassinate al-Qaida leader
Yemen, Politics, 11/23/2002

The Yemeni ministry of the interior yesterday started circulation of pictures of wanted persons of al-Qaida organization at the country's land, sea and air crossings in an attempt by the Yemeni government to find the wanted elements following the collapse in the "Yemen's cell" -- following the assassination of Qaid Sanyan al-Harithi in an operation which was carried out by the Yemeni security authorities in coordination with the CIA.

The Yemeni authorities have intensified their efforts to arrest the second highest ranking man in the organization in the country, Muhammad Hamdi al-Ahdal, known as "Abi Asem" who has been chased in the deserts of Mareb and al-Jouf provinces, especially after achieving a progress in monitoring him by the Yemeni authorities and the CIA.

Well-informed sources said that the Yemeni authorities are coordinating with tribal men in the two provinces in order to monitor the moves of al-Ahdal who was handed over more than 80 million Riyals by which he gives the tribal-men sums to ensure his protection in areas which are unreachable by the eyes of the Yemeni and American intelligence.

Yemeni security sources disclosed that arresting Ali Abdul Rahim Hussein Muhammad al-Nashiri and sending him to the US was made with Yemeni help in providing information about him. Al-Nashiri, one of the most dangerious al- Qaida members was arrested in one of the Arab states which handed him to the USA.

The US intelligence claims that al-Nashiri had financially contributed to finance the attack on the US warship USS Cole in October 2000 and he had also contributed in buying a small steam boat, a car and rented two flats in Aden in 1999 in preparation for blowing off the warship in the port of Aden, but the operation failed after the attacking boat drowned in the water of the Gulf of Aden before the beginning of the operation.

Yemeni sources indicated that al-Nashiri ordered one al-Qaida member to video tape the attack which targeted warship "USS Cole." He is also accused of taking part in the bombardment of the two American embassies in Nairobi and Dar al-Salaam in 1998.

Observers say that arresting al- Nashiri will accelerate the process of bringing persons accused of the attack against "USS Cole" before the judiciary. Yemeni sources expected the process of trying the convicted persons who include eight individuals to start following Eid al-Fiter.

Speaking of Slick Willy.

I was arguing with a liberal today and he tried to say that Clinton didn't actively go after terrorism because he didn't have time. That he did the ground work for the next President to finish... And the kicker was that somehow he know Bush would be the next President...

Can you believe these people?

"Yemeni security officials believe the Saudi-born al-Ahdal, 32, was one of the masterminds of the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 U.S. sailors and the 2002 bombing of the French oil tanker, the Limburg."

Hm.... How many Al Queda masterminds does it take to blow up a ship during the Clinton Administration?

It couldn't be that our find folks in US Security are exaggerating anything, could it?

Others of Interest
These are terrorist who are named for some reason in the media but do not fit into the above categories.
Abikar Mohammed Ali Mombosa Apprehended (March 2003) In Custody

*Note: Abu Mohammed al-Masri’s fate has been the subject of a great deal of speculation due to the fact that it is a fairly common nom de guerre among al-Qaeda operatives. Some of the data is still sketchy, but it appears that he is not the same as the Yemeni al-Qaeda operative who served as the network’s representative to the Algerian GSPC. Israeli officials have stated that he may have been one of the suicide bombers involved in the Mombasa attack in November 2002, but this has not been confirmed.

**Note: Osama bin Laden is said to have had up to four wives and as many as twenty-three sons, though only four have been named by counter-terrorism sources. According to Time Magazine, documents recovered from Khalid Sheikh Mohammed’s residence indicate that during December 2001 most of bin Laden’s family escaped into Iran with at least several hundred al-Qaeda fighters, a charge made by Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld at the time. The CIA has several intelligence reports citing Saad bin Laden as having met with senior members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Tehran in Febuary 2003.

***NOTE: The list of Pakistani al-Qaeda affiliates is incomplete, largely because they change their names so often in an effort to evade their financial assets being seized.

****Currently "at large" because he was released by the Clinton Justice Department after "cooperating" in the investigation of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing. It turns out that he was actually an Iraqi intelligence agent, and is believed to have fled to Baghdad.

So it got too expensive for Yemen to warehouse and hide this mass murdering sob.

Put a hook into the sob and troll him back to Gitmo. If the sharks get him, no big loss.

I just heard on FNC the mastermind of the USS Cole attack has been caught

Yeah, he was very high on Bill Clinton's list of terrorists that he was trying to catch and bring to justice. Don't believe me? Just ask one of the naive nine.

The Saudis may have forced Yemen to capture and turn this sob over.

al Qaeda murdering thugs are losing a lot of safe places now. Saudi land and Turkey are not be best places to be if one is a mass murdering al Qaeda planner.
