God knows keeping a campaign promise is so much more important than following the Constitution. He swore on the Holy Bible to uphold that too. But polls are more important eh?

So, IOW, you are saying that you would say something during a campaign and then renege on that promise that got you elected.

Whew billy, remind me never to do business with you.

Say I stood up and promised practically everything in the world, knowing full well I didn't have the power to give it once in office if I were to follow my oath of office, which is more important? Following my oath of office or gaining votes by breaking my oath of office?

If Bush knew that he was going to swear on the Bible to follow his oath of office, he shouldn't have made promises as he did. Frankly, I hold breaking an oath a little higher than making statements on a campaign stump
