[history]
To paraphrase an old joke, if you want to avoid injury, don't ever get between Gloria Allred and a TV camera.
The Los Angeles-based lawyer, whose credo seems to be, "It is better to be obnoxious and famous than not to be noticed at all," is impossible for viewers of cable TV interview shows to avoid. It is nothing for Allred, with her forced grin and grating manner, to pop up on MSNBC, CNN and the Fox News Channel all on the same night.

Here's one of many articles you can find on Google, noting that Allred represented the boy in the earlier abuse case. (Briefly perhaps, but she did. And she is therefore not uninformed, or injecting herself irrelevantly as the article that opened this thread implies.)

Michael Jackson had some choice words for attorney Gloria Allred when he returned to court in Santa Maria, California, on Tuesday.
The well-known victims' rights attorney wrote to California authorities last week, complaining that Jackson's infant could have fallen to his death during a recent baby-dangling incident (see "Michael Jackson Calls Baby-Dangling Incident A 'Terrible Mistake' " </news/articles/1458799/11202002/jackson_michael.jhtml>). She asked the state's Department of Social Services and the district attorney in Santa Barbara County to determine whether they have jurisdiction to investigate the singer for child endangerment.
When Jackson returned to court after a lunch break Tuesday, one reporter on the sidelines asked him, "What would you say about Gloria Allred?"
Jackson asked, "Who's that?"
"She's the attorney who's calling for an investigation by children services as a result of the ..."
"Ah, tell her to go to hell," Jackson replied.
If Jackson's memory had served him, he might have recalled that Allred represented the 13-year-old boy who in 1993 accused the singer of molesting him...
"It's my view that any person who witnesses an act that they believe to be an act of child endangerment ... has a moral duty to notify Children's Protective Services," Allred told CNN. "Little babies and children cannot do that for themselves. It's for the rest of us to speak out and to ask that the authorities to investigate, to make sure that child is protected. What he really needs to do is attend a parenting class and learn how to exercise better judgement. ... That child could have been subjected to great bodily harm or even death. And he needs to learn that's not funny. That's a real baby. That's not a Cabbage Patch doll."

From
http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Stage/2943/framed2.html "Gloria Allred, an attorney hired on August 31 to represent the boy, held a press conference on September 2 declaring that, 'my client wants to have his day in court.' Within a few days of her assertion about her client that, 'he is ready, he is willing, he is able to testify.', she withdrew from the case and refused to disclose why...
"Immediately after Gloria Allred was replaced, the boy's new lawyer, Larry Feldman, filed a civil suit in Los Angeles Superior Court accusing Michael Jackson of battery, infliction of emotional distress and fraud. The suit asked for unspecified monetary damages..."
Sounds to me like Gloria wasn't interested in filthy lucre.

Greta likes her... I have nothing against Gloria, she's looking for the welface of children & women. Pedophiles have no business having kids around them and that goes for Michael Jackson also.

Allred represented the boy who accused Jackson ten years ago, and who settled. She's not coming out of nowhere to this issue.
Exactly.
