You may want to read the story before you describe it as a "soap opera." Stranger abductions are rare, but they do happen.

Making allegations the boyfriend did it when they were a minimum of 300 miles apart just makes you sound silly.

I agree it sounds silly. I said I am often wrong.

But I can't help getting a feeling of some amount of BS in the story when the last words through the phone are "Oh my god, no!"

Could very well be it happened exactly as he states. I just don't trust anyone that uses soap opera dialogue.
