GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Dru Sjodin finished her shift at the Victoria's Secret store at 4 p.m. Saturday, then did a little shopping at another store in the Columbia Mall in Grand Forks.
As she walked to her car, the 22-year-old University of North Dakota senior from Pequot Lakes, Minn., used her cell phone to call her boyfriend in the Twin Cities. They talked for about 10 minutes, he later told authorities, until the call ended with a startled cry from Dru:
"Oh, my God! No!"
Nobody has heard from her since.
A few hours later, there was a second brief and voiceless call to her boyfriend, and the signal from her cell phone was tracked to a rural area near Fisher, Minn., 13 miles southeast of Grand Forks.
Throughout the city Monday, people took up her disbelieving cry: "Oh, my God, No!"

I'm new to this story, only heard about it for the first time today, but I'd like to ask you what you would say if someone came up to you with a weapon? Also, 'Oh my God! No!' is not what her boyfriend heard, it's what the media has put out to shorten what it possibly was. It was either 'Oh my God' or 'No no no, ok ok ok'. About it seeming like a 'Soap Opera' . . where do you think TV shows get their inspiration from? Everything these days is 'ripped' or 'pulled' from the headlines. I realize you wrote this before an arrest was made, so I won't bring up the suspect and how very likely it is that he is the guy who did it. Just from my own gut feelings, I think she is buried or trapped under something, such as a basement or floor boards or a room built into the ground. I live very close to where Ashley Pond and Miranda Gadis were abducted and later found dismembered, one buried in cement, one in an old shed. Everyone thought that these girls ran away, do you know how awful they feel now? Try not to wear your ignorance so much on your sleeve, eh?

yes i know that...even though everyone is praying for her to be alive, in all realitry I don't think she is..i'm sorry but I know that the boyfriend didn't do it...even tho there is that small chance he did..they already got the guy anyways...police aren't saying anything else about him. I hope they find her.

Welcome to FR. I have a question. What time zone were you in when you made your first reply on 12/1?
Your profile page indicates you didn't sign up until 12/2.

Thanks! I've added 4 more to my list: Hagitay, gigi6, Furhouse, and cbfromgf.
I'm addressing this to you, rather than to the twisted one, b/c I don't want a reply from this anonymous hater, who keeps signing on under multiple names just to disrupt people who are minding their own business. But needless to say, I'm speaking to/about the disruptor, not you!
It's one thing when this bedwetting lib-nut vents its hatred of FR on threads about alleged child-abuse, or some teenager whose flagrant negligence and lack of caring causes people to die in a horrible accident. But this Dru Sjodin matter, IMO, is an even more serious matter: wilful, premeditated, RAPE and MURDER.
I thought liberals were compassionate? Not even a drop of compassion for a girl who is probably dead, and who met her fate through no fault of her own?
However much time any of us spend posting here, this hater has more time. And what a use of that time. Perhaps this hater is an invalid, stuck in bed with a laptop and a bad case of some preventable disease brought on by "poor lifestyle choices". In that case, I guess I will feel a LITTLE bit sorry for the hater--I mean, how they must regret the way they wasted their life and health.
So sorry, Anonymous Hater! We feel your pain! But try to realize that people whose politics differ from yours are NOT responsible for the sad state of your current life. Hey, and don't forget, you want to keep the GOOD karma, not the BAD karma. Bye now!

I totally understand what you mean about some BS in the whole story. If I was on the phone with someone and they said "Oh my god, no!" wouldn't you want to find out what was up and call someone or police or anything? I thought it seemed a little odd.
To: Furhouse
Those "last words" are what her boyfriend told the police and what was written up in the papers and on television. And unless he was involved, why would he lie about something like that?

Glad you're here! You must have ESP. I was literally about to ping you and a certain other poster, with an urgent messare: "Help! Ridicule needed!"
I am sure, however, that that other poster would rather have hot wax dropped on his head than be pinged to this thread...
Oh, what the heck. A little hot wax never hurt anyone... much. CALLING CONSTITUTION DAY!! RIDICULE NEEDED FOR THREE DISRPUTORS! (All really one person, kind of like an Unholy Trinity.) Names of disruptors: gigi6, Furhouse, cbfromgf!!

Since I've been clicking names, I've noticed that that happens a lot--a lot of times the first post has an earlier date than the sign-up date. Guess we'd have to ask the mods that one!

a lot of times the first post has an earlier date than the sign-up date.I figure it means it was already the next day in the time zone where the poster registered.
I have a time stamp on that one of thirty minutes to midnight, and I'm in Eastern time, so if I'm right, the person could only be on the North American continent if they were posting from...Nova Scotia...
But heck, they could be posting from anywhere.
To: Devil_Anse; hellinahandcart
But but but he/she doesn't know the victim!! And he/she wasn't there.. it can't be the same I tell ya. (LOL)

I have read your thread, but maybe I'm missing something. Perhaps the two of you are lifelong friends and your dialog reflects a longstanding level of trust between you.
However, I am taken aback by Catspaw's continuing assault on Ispy4u's Boyfriend Theory. Granted, the boyfriend is many miles away, but from the beginning, one point has bothered me... If my girlfriend, wife or daughter exclaimed, "Oh my God! No!" into a cell phone and was suddenly cut off, I'd be on the hotline with the Pentagon in about 20 seconds. Don't you think there's something a bit odd about him not giving a hoot until hours later?
As far as I'm concerned, he ought to be indicted on some charge somewhere between conspiracy and stupidity.

Hmm. Your registration date is tomorrow, too.
Welcome to FR. What time zone are you in?

Whoa..... Unbelievable. I think we should start a thread addressing this issue (of the multiple handles) to the mods..but they'd probably get frustrated with us for doing it..and others would wonder why we bothered. What say ye? We could post it in the smokey room and ask the mods to address the issue there, maybe?.
