[history]
Terse report for now:
- NEW By popular demand Browse All Forums (Search is on the todo list.)
- FIXED The pager now alerts on new comments to you in any forum (it used to only alert for the News/Activism forum.)
- CHANGED General Interest now General Interest (Chat).
- I added color to the sidebar, tell me (politely!) what you think.
- Lots of misc. things under the hood.
There are a bunch of add'l changes/additions I'd like to make, and this is probably not the last update today. I'll update this thread if so.
Update #1
- You can choose your own color for each topic subscribed in your sidebar. See the subscriptions gadget (All but blue is probably dog ugly. Feel free to suggest new color schemes in standard web hexadecimal (one color for the background of the title the other for the background of the links)
Update #2
- A few trivial changes, mostly cosmetic.
- You can now search by time or relevance from the latest posts. And it remembers what your last search was and defaults to that. So NOW order by time can be your default search setting.
- Oh yeah, almost forgot, SPELL CHECK! (replies for now, articles will come later.)
Update #3
- New Posts to You from You has been vanquished. New posts will only alert when other people ping you.
- Playing with the position of the Spell check button. Sorry.
- Your personal menu has a new small treat inside.
- Fixed a couple bugs dealing with the spell check code.
- I'm not done yet.
Update #4:
- Okay, I have stopped dorking with the link colors. Back to the defaults they go. Thanks for baring my experiment, I figure it's the least you owe for All Forum posts. ;-)

Literally no problem. It was already there. :-) (Mostly.) Kind of neat to have too.

Outstanding work (maybe now I'll run the pager)

Admittedly I haven't read through all this, since the thread has grown so long. But just now I tried to make a post and include a link, same as I've always done, but now the link runs together with my comment, even though there's no HTML in it, such as bold words.
But even a link only isn't a working link. Used to you just copied a link, pasted it, and there it was.

The Opus wasn't bad (enjoying the suggested music, wondering when the next "Wings of the Luftwaffe" is on the Discovery Wings channel :-)

Ya done good, John!
Thanks for all the hours of effort & cogitation in evolving this humble site to a level of excellence and versatility other sites can only hope to someday attain.
To: John Robinson
No. I don't want that poor little thing to get hammered too hard. ;-) Did you change the length of the old refresh rate? It seems to be running slower than before. (I do like that it matches our local time zone now though, instead of UTC!) Also, did you remove the ability to manually refresh the notification window, or do I just think you did because it only lists the last update to the minute now instead of to the second? (My cable modem's a bit flaky at times and I often have to kickstart the pager after it's lost the connection.)

If you can find a way to get your browser to accept Javascript from FR only, Spunky, you should. The Javascript-launched pager puts a nicely-sized little window in the corner of your screen. But if you just open the pager URL itself, it launches as a full-sized window right in the middle of the screen.
Of course, you can then manually shrink and move that window, but why do that when you can be lazy? :)

small treat inside profile... Yikes! Total posts higher than I thought!
I didn't know what a blowfish I am! LOL.
It is an improvement and nice :)) Another bulletin board engine whose functionality I like is marijauna.com...no really! LOL. I don't go over there anymore after they banned me for Klinton/leftist bashing.. hee hee. And I don't even smoke...lol.
Keep up the good work. God Bless!

I see that the little "copyright" symbol in my tagline is gone. Seems like someone elsewhere today mentioned the "trademark" symbol not showing up either.
TEST:

Yeah it did.
Must have been a glitch in between a change.

Oh, dumb mistake! Will have it patched up next go around. Shouldn't be too long.

Do I really want to do this math? It seems I've averaged a post every 96 minutes since I've signed up (no mean feat seing that I've been away from my computer 41 days since I signed up).
