My young nephew recently visited us; he grew up in a Bulgarian orphanage until he was seven and knew no English when he arrived in the United States to live with my brother and his wife.

We were all driving around in a van one day when out of nowhere he blurted out, "I'm as harmless as Kobe Bryant!"

His parents, who are accustomed to his underdeveloped language skills, asked him what made him decide to say such a thing. He said he heard it on Fox News (which is the station his mother has on all day - he is home-schooled) on Greta van Susteren's program.

We told him that probably was not a good thing to say and he would understand why when he got a little older.

I will be chuckling about that one for a long, long time...
