California Senate has voted to repeal SB 60! (Drivers' Licenses for Illegals Being REPEALED Now!)

The California Senat is now voting on SB 1XXX by Senator Rico Oller to repeal SB 60, the dirvers license of illegal aliens bill.

Reports are that the Democrats have been scared into supporting this. The recall exit polls showed it was the number one issue.

Only the author can withdraw a bill prior to the governor's signature. And believe me, Rico Oller is one of the top three conservatives in the California Senate (along with Hollingsworth and McClintock). That simply will not happen.

Still thinking McClintock would have been better than Arnold? McClintock would have never been this successful in taking the issue to the public.

Where do you get that? I am grateful for Arnold's support, but so far this has been the landslide fear of the Dems who checked the polls the day after the election. This is all about the fallout of the RECALL which was a bigger vote than just Arnold. Arnold has yet to participate in this repeal, though he certainly will sign the bill when it gets to his desk.

McClintock would have stopped it just as effectively, and he wouldn't be talking about a different version later on with so-called security precautions the way Arnold is.

Very interesting. As a confirmed cynic, I would like to know what kind of a "deal" was struck with the RATs for some sort of future treachery? This is very uncharacteristic of them, so used are they to getting their way every time with the last butt-wipe governor. Those scumbags do not scare easily, so I wonder what Arnold had to give up for this?

Maybe they're counting on the groping charges to stick in the coming months. They could have some kind of scam going with that scumbag Attorney General Bill Lockyer about trolling for some teasing little tart who will manufacture some sex charge, complete with manufactured evidence. Most likely, they'll hold it over him in the form of political blackmail.

Then again, the RATS could be practicing their time-honored battle cry: When the going gets tough, bug out!

The other one was Dennis Hollingsworth. That's why I mentioned the three. That is now my minimum standard to be thought of as a conservative stalwart in Sacramento. The only other two are Assemblyman Jay LaSuer and Assemblyman Dennis Mountjoy. Maybe we could call them the Righteous Gang of Five.

If an IA DL comes to pass, IMHO it should be a specially marked license that cannot be used for any purpose other than driving, and cannot be used to get further documentation to make them appear legal. Personally I think it's a big step in the wrong direction to reward criminals though.

Oh, I think licenses for illegals would be a great idea, with the provisos that you mentioned.

If Tennessee voted Democrat in 2000, Gore would be president today. The sad fact of warfare (even political warfare) is that the losing side is always found to be fighting yesterday's war, meaning that they are stuck on the tactics of the last war, not the innovative way of winning the next war.

Perhaps the Democrats feel that if only they had the Latino vote (and yes, even in Tennessee) they would have won.

The new winning tactic apparently is to stop the "class" pandering and brazen party power grabs and do right for the country. Will the Democrats "get it?"

Probably not... but I feel the Fed's must step in on all states doing this ridiculous compromising of our security. How can ID be safe in this country, especially for security sensitive airlines... I keep praying that this error will not cost any more innocent American lives. God Bless.

How can ID be safe in this country...

I once suggested requiring passports to vote, even having the government pay for issuing them instead of a new national ID card, since they already had the beauracracy in place and they wouldn't want to risk losing the international credibility of our passports to voter fraud.

I was beaten down with calls for "your papers, please."

We, out here in Kalifornia, have been screaming about this very thing for years! In fact, all of our family members and friends have applied for and recieved their passports, hoping that if enough of us push this issue, it will be required, or at least, a valid gov't ID. I know other states will not accept our DL for ID, so how can you verify you being you, even with a credit card? You ideas are right on, and I wish it would spread like wildfire....
