I raised turkeys for fun some years back. I had a white tom that looked just like this one; I called him "Bubba".
Same red, white and blue wattles.
He was a great yard bird, but dumb as a rock. Sure was entertaining, though, to see him display.
There's news about that other symbol of avian intelligence, the dodo. A couple of scientists, David Roberts from the Royal Botanical Garden at Kew, and Andrew Solox from the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institute, appear to have discovered that the dodo survived 28 years longer than was previously thought, according to an article in the journal Nature. (I haven't seen the article but just a news item based on it. I don't know if they tried to determine if the dodo tasted like chicken.)
