I live about five minutes away from the original Strouds. Funky little roadhouse of the sort that barely exist anymore. There's a piano there that is usually being played by one of the great local talents. Great food and one of the oldest operating saloon style bars in the area. Love that place!

Which is exactly why I'm stunned that they didn't arouse security. According the the FAA's observed policies, only little old white ladies and other non-Muslims are to be searched!

We talked to Sean a bit while getting our book signed. Very genuine person. I was surprised that he spent the (little though it was) extra time to talk with us just a bit after he signed the book.

It's funny you both mentioned that because he made a joke of it in his act. I can't remember exactly what he said, but he said it was OK he took a private jet because "it was going there anyway." It got a big laugh from the crowd.

I met my wife through the great 'food' of Kansas City! Kansas City is just full of great eating places. . . . We would frequent Stroud's......Gates.......Plaza Three......Stroud's.......Arthur Bryants..... Gates.......Stroud's.......

BTW, did I call it right? Strouds North? I grew up just off of 83rd and Holmes. I wouldn't call it advertising... Just a statement of fact! If the moderators don't believe me, have them check with Troutstalker and any other KC residents!

Yeah, I play at Stroud's North on weekends and Stroud's 85th & Troost on Mondays. We got the food from North.

It IS the best chicken around! Just a statement of fact!
