I like hickory, a few years ago we used mesquite - it was out of this world! This year I'll combine the two.

Together is outstanding! Mesquite is a weed here, and almost mystical. We have hackberries, a tree which is also a weed, and its wood is mindboggling with flavor!!

By "mesquite is a weed", do you mean because of it's abundance, or has Willie Nelson been seen around? ;o)

I'm going to have to try to find some hackberry wood.
