Wrong. The arabs on the saudi peninsula worshiped thier moon god. And believed in djinnis, efreet, etc. The shrine at Medina was a temple to that moon god for centuries before muhammed was born.
Muhammed saw how well the Christians and Jews were doing, being civilized and joined in a common theology.
So Muhammed took selected scripture from the Torah and Bible and incoporated them with the moon gods followers beliefs to create something for the arabs.
Do you really believe the God of Abraham desires conversion to him or death? that its ok to lie to nonbelievers? Or many other blatant discrepancies?
You do understand, don't you, that Mosque on the mount in jerusalem was created as a way to diminish the God of Abraham? By defiling the site of the Jewish Temple after the barbarian arab hordes killed raped and pillaged Jerusalem?
Or the fact that Medina(I THINK it was Medina, been a while) was a large hugely successful Jewish city? And that the lusting for thier riches, it was proclaimed a muslim holy site and the jews driven out?
People around here need to actually read the histories and not the revisionist crap that passes for history now.

Nope. it is true.
God is God.
Our understanding of him is made perfect thru God's revealations in Jesus Christ.
But many non believers in Jesus nevertheless worship God as best they understand him, although their understanding of him is partial or distorted. That is why we find good people in all religions.
Remember when Paul saw the shrine to the unknown God? He didn't tell the worshippers that they were worshipping a false God, but showed them that this "unknown god" had come to earth as Jesus to tell them more about himself.
This is how we evangelize other cultures. Many good people become Christian because they find a deeper truth of their original beliefs in Christ's teaching. They are not rejecting their God, but recognizing that they had an incomplete or distorted idea in their original beliefs, and were happy that they now saw the true picture...
Most muslims love God as revealed by Abraham and Moses. They have many distortions in their religion, but it is the same God...
