Nihilism is rampant in western Europe. And the left would like to bring that here.

"as cannibalism is not technically illegal under German law"
I'd say this is a big loophole in German so I'm staying away from bratwurst for life.

"Nihilism is rampant in western Europe."
I'm not sure what this means -- I'm out of touch with Europe but what kind of things have been happening?
If you listen to the left the peaceful socialist in Europe spend their time working in homeless shelters and eating vegan.

The same logical arguments expressed to support homosexuality can also be used to support cannibalism.
Neither, I can safely say, have any appeal to me, nor do I even begin to understand why one would engage in or even comprehend either activity.
25 years before the fall of the Berlin Wall, nobody anticipated the demise of the Soviet Block from within. 25 years ago nobody imagined homosexuality would be so publicly tolerated. IMHO, cannibalism isn't that far of a stretch for churches which condone and elect gay bishops in about 25 years.

Mr Meiwes, from Rotenburg, says his victim was a willing participant who ate part of his own bodyI kept trying that in college, but I was never flexible enough.
Mr Meiwes advertised on websites for "young, well-built men aged 18 to 30 to slaughter",
I would have thought it was a typo. I would have thought what they meant was "young, well-built men aged 18 to 30 for laughter
Mr Meiwes told investigators he took Mr Brandes back to his home, where Mr Brandes agreed to have his penis cut off, which Mr Meiwes then flambeed and served up to eat together.
Now THERE'S a new solution to that college problem of mine.
"I admit what I've done," Mr Meiwes told Welt am Sonntag newspaper.
Kinda hard to deny when you've got someones kidney in your mouth.
cannibalism is not technically illegal under German law.
Why am I not surprised?

Mr Meiwes says he then killed Mr Brandes with his consent - recording the two-hour event on video.
Killing me softly
By
Laz
I heard he flambed a good penis,
I heard he killed with style,
And so I went to see him,
To be eaten for a while.
And there he was, this computer geek
A stranger before the laws eyes,
Cutting off my penis for lunch,
Sharing a dish we both love
Killing me softly for dinner
Killing me softly
For dinner
Ending my whole life
This winner
Killing me softly
For dinner.
I felt all flushed with microwaves,
Being cooked by one.
I felt like someone killed me
And ate parts of me for fun.
I prayed this cannibal would finish,
But he just kept right on
Killing me softly for dinner
Killing me softly
For dinner
Ending my whole life
With some vinager
Killing me softly
For dinner.
