Chat is such a black hole, I think everyone is extremely hesitant to post there. You're better off taking your chances posting in News. Unless the article is abusive, the worst that can happen is that it gets moved to chat.

Might one possible solution be to increase the number of forums and better define what the different forums are for? That way, you could more strictly enforce what goes where.

Go to the following on the Latest Post page in the upper right section.... CLick on General Interest..... Or click on it below.... That is the chat forum they are talking about..

When you're browsing in the General Interest (which is the official name for chat) forum, simply hit the Post button, like you would in News/Activism.

Considering there are some 3,500 articles and some 22,000 individual post made each day I'm surprised they have time to do anything else but clean up the spills in the various aisles......

Each of those forums operates as a seperate forum with its own latest post page..... good luck

I didn't mean that this story got moved to chat, but that at the time it was a local story about a small plane that hit the World Trade center. We all know what this "local" news story turned in to.
