So the Jews also disbelieve in the divinity of Jesus; should we dismiss their religion as satanic and their God as evil, too?

"So the Jews also disbelieve in the divinity of Jesus; should we dismiss their religion as satanic and their God as evil, too?"

Nice question. Jesus is recorded to have said that the Jews were liars like their father the devil. He said that those who would worship God the Father must do so in spirit and in truth. If I worship and serve a lie, whether it is a muslim lie, a Jewish lie, catholic lie or a mormon, buddhist, hindu, shinto, baptist, methodist, episcopalian or whatever, if it is a lie it does not really matter whose lie it is, it just matters that it is a lie and it is not God's truth. I am either worshiping Him, or I am dishonoring Him. (yes this is narrow minded. Very. The Jews, christians and muslims are each absolutely narrow minded. Their teachings are mutually exclusive.)

The Jews do not accept Jesus as their Messiah. They do not believe Jesus is God in the flesh. This does not mean that no Jew believes in Jesus' Father. It certainly does not mean that individual Jews can not or should not accept Jesus. The scriptures were entrusted to them. They have great priviledge and great responsibility. Their scriptures, basically the christian old testament, is obviously not satanic or worthless. Unfortunately by rejecting the Messiah foretold in them they have as a group fallen for a lie and as far as I can tell are not serving God, at least not in a most perfect way.

As to whether their religion is satanic and their God evil, it depends on who they are actually worshipping. Their scriptures are from God, but they added man's words to them. (just like every religion tends to do) No analogy is perfect or complete, but a dim representation could be like the following:

A scoutmaster, squad leader, whoever is leading his troops on the trail. The boys ae follwing fairly well up to a point where they lose sight of him for a moment. When they turn back around from their latest distraction, they follow the uniform in front of them, but unfortunately it is the leader's enemy. They are led astray and many come to an unfortunate end. They sincerely followed a lie, an imposter. Likewise, it may be argued that the Jew's God led on, but they mostly followed someone else and did not follow His call to honor His Son. An alternative analogy would have them choosing to follow someone else when the leader wold not lead them in the path they wanted to walk.

Since God is a real Person, He has a very definite and deep character. Calling some other person by His name does not giver that other person His character or self. Calling a man or angel or demon by the name of God does not make that other person into the omnipotent creator. Baby geese imprinting on a non-migratory bird or a man does not make the gozlings not-geese, nor does it transform the surrogate mother into a migratory goose. The little gozlings will be sincere children of their "mother", but they will not be migrating according to plan.

God was saying "here I am and this is my Son" and the Jewish rulers replied "away with him, we have no king but caesar". So are they worshipping satan, or a historical artifact of how God used to appear? What I do know is that God sent His son to die and pay the price for the debt we each have, that we can not pay ourselves. It does not matter who that person has been following, God loved each person on the planet enough to die for them individually. It is up to each man woman and child to choose one way or the other.

We say we believe in freedom, but all true freedoms come from God. He even gave us the freedom to choose not to follow Him.
