"White student walks out, says parts of presentation were insensitive. School official says nothing was said to tear down white students"
I expect that this sort of thing is going to get worse as time goes on. The younger generation of white students is exposed to levels of political propaganda at school that is unimaginable to those of us who are a bit older. They also are further removed from seeing actual discrimination against minorities (in fact, most of their experience in this realm is with affirmative action). Consequently, I suspect that many will start to rebel...which could cause trouble in race relations in the not-too-distant future.

He acknowledged that the event included harsh language, but only so speakers could relate with students. I guess the assembly did not present an oppotunity for students to expand their vocabulary.

Whatever happened to "some things you like and some things you don't?" You deal with it. Black or white, get over yourselves already. It's NOT all about YOU. You do not have a right not to be offended.

"That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard," he said. "Our purpose is to make black kids stop killing each another." Why not have them stop killing *anyone*?
Or is it ok if they kill other (white?) people?

Well you don't do that by blaming Whitey! So Whitey stays in school so he can be Lord over Blacks? Pure racism. Whitey stays in school because his parents would whoop his butt if he even thought of leaving.

According to Anderson, Shahid said that whites stayed in school so when they graduate they can be in charge of blacks.

I must have missed that semester. Darn, I'm not in charge of any blacks. Am I missing out on something?
