This is not as good as bringing back the House Committee on un-American Activities but it's a step in the right direction. Just the name alone would drive the leftist swine ballistic.

IMO the culture war must be won as part of the bigger war to defend against radical Islam. Anything that brings the culture war to the fore is good. Let's get it over with.

Likely the left will respond violently to protest against Congress. Good. Let the authorities respond in kind. But let's find out just why the "anti-war" left wants to destroy another wartime administration and give aid and comfort to our enemies -- again! No more "send the troops over there to fight, die, and win the battles then have the political/media quagmire lose the war here."

The ones truly against the war and the Bush administration for the sake of America will have no problem telling Congress why. The rhetoric of others goes beyond traditional politics.

Clinton-haters thought Clinton was a war criminal for making war against Serb civilians BUT none wanted the Serbs to humiliate or defeat our troops.

Some on the left want American casualties. It will help them win in 2004 and it will help them to surrender our sovereignty to international groups. Force them to tell us why. They have inalienable rights to feeeeeeeeel that way we have inalienable rights to say NO! A clash of inalienable rights.

" Billionaire financier George Soros and Peter Lewis, chairman of automobile insurer Progressive Corp., have pledged to spend millions of dollars to defeat Mr. Bush."

George Soros and his Open Society Institute fund a large number of organizations with innocuous sounding names. My suspicion is that this is being done to make it more difficult for anyone to trace the flow of money spent on issue-oriented ads.
