With buildings all around, I wouldn't put much stock in that. I've been in situations where I've mistaken where a sound is coming from.

What you miss here is that there were extensive sound tests in the Dealy Plaza area fom all points and it was shown that sound reflection would cause people in some locations to hear the shot from a false origin. The making of the argument that it couldnt be from the GK because the onlookers ran that direction is neither here nor there. It is merely a logical surmise and holds NO weight against measurements and physical evidence.

I heard a live interview the other day with Dallas detective Leavelle who said they interviewed 21 eyewitnesses right after it happened and swears no one mentioned shots fired from the grassy knoll until years later, I guess they never got a statement from this person on the radio. Leavelle was also the one handcuffed to Oswald the day he was shot.

Be careful about lending too much credence to that report. I'm a hunter, and I'm constantly amazed at how much effect valleys and hills have on the travel of sound (trying to figure the origin of a gunshot is difficult in hilly terrain). Buildings would likely distort the origin of sound even more.

I was listening to this also in my car at 1:30 when they re-enacted the announcement of President Kennedy's death. Again, this republican cried. Politics aside, no one should die this way.

The people who ran up the sidewalk steps did so in order to watch the limo go up Stemmens Freeway to Parkland.
If this lady went up to the fence to see a gunman, she obviously didn't find him.

why would someone risk their lives by running towards where shots were being fired from? I've never heard that one. Everybody acknowlegdes that some wtinesses heard the shots coming from the Grassy Knoll, others heard the shots coming from the School Book Depository. None of this means much because echos can make sounds sound like they're coming from places they aren't. In fact it would be extremely unusual if different people didn't here the shots coming from different locations.

I drove by Dealy Plaza unintentionally at about the time the shooting happened 40 years ago while returning home from the motorcycle show at the Dallas Concention Center. Area was packed with people and Elm street in front of the Schoolbook Building was blocked off and filled with people. The majority looked too young to have been around four decades ago and some seemed waiting for a part to break out.

Some years back I saw an supposed tv documentary on JFL killing and I hear a "male" claim the same thing at the time, then he packed up and headed for Alaska.
I don't know if it was the same one but this guy was not talking to anyone at the time the documentary was done, he was toooooo scared to talk. It been around 8-10 years ago.

Listened to WBAP on the way back from Dealy Plaza this afternoon. Rather surreal after standing and looking out that infamous book depository window at 12:30.

I suggest watching the History Channel documentaries running today. Very interesting stuff.
They offer the 6 DVD series for sale as well.

As much as I hate to promote a PBS product, the FrontLine episode on Oswald this week
was pretty good.
I keep an open mind about conspiracies/set-ups, but that FrontLine special did a pretty
good job of making the case that Oswald was just an obsessed nut who did have
a good day of shooting.
The episode included a digital recreation by the legal consultants Failure Analysis
giving a "sniper's-eye view" of Oswald shooting 3 shots in 8 seconds.
And an short interview with a schoolbook depository worker who was one floor down,
directly under Oswald's sniper nest. The fellow had the window open and was
waving to the motorcade when he heard the three shots, and even the cycling of the
bolt-action.
I've visited "the scene of the crime". Just my amateur shooter opinion is that
Oswald probably was able to carry off the three shots in eight seconds, but must
have had luck and skill with him that day.
Unfortunately.

I believe in a conspiracy to kill Kennedy, and here is why...
Oswald could not do the shooting in the manner concluded by the Warren Commission.
NINE wounds with 3 bullets, one of them a head wound that caused brain matter to fly backwards onto a motorcycle cop 25 feet behind Kennedy's limo.
Now, who made up this conspiracy is anybody's guess, and makes for interesting debate. But the "official" conclusion that Oswald alone killed Kennedy is crap.

LBJ, J. Edgar Hoover, and Richard Nixon all attended a dinner party in Hoover's honor held at the Dallas home of oilman Clint Murchison the evening of Nov. 21, 1963. LBJ's mistress, who was also at the party, said that LBJ told her at the party that, after the next day, the Kennedys would never embarrass him again. I just learned she recently died, but the report is in her relatively recent book (as well as being cited by Barr McClellan in his book).

This news is old. This witness testified the same thing 40 years ago in other media.
