"Countries accepting immigrants often fail to accept them as equals or grant them legal status, even as they benefit from their labor, Annan said. "

What a load. He is aiming this at America and wants us to treat criminals the same as legal immigrants. You globalists out there who want a despotic world government may like that but those of us who still believe in American soverignity the constitution and freedom sure don't.

Here in the United States our LEGAL immigrants receive exact same rights as any other American, because they aren't criminals, they've obeyed our laws.

I have known people who immigrated here from all over the world. One thing all I've asked agreed on was how fair the US is to them compared to other countries they passed through.

I knew a guy who came here from Bosnia by way of Germany. He said the Germans treated immigrants like him as lower class citizens.

I worked with a woman from Poland who back in the iron curtain days lived in Switzerland after fleeing Poland. She said she and other refugees were treated badly, and constantly taken advantage of.

Same with Vietnamese and Cambodians who passed through refugee camps and other countries on their journey to America. All I've talked to say everywhere, except the US treated them poorly, that gaining American residence gave them respect they never got when they go back through those same countries today.

It looks like illegal immigration will get a big push from the U.N. as the 2004 elections draws near.

So many people refer to the anti-illegal immigration protestors as "one issue voters". It is strange this "one issue" covers just about everything that the presidential candidates will be discussing from terrorism, crime, health care, education, jobs and taxes.
