OOOH, Minnesooooota is a good and BEAUTIFUL place too! My husb's relatives are there and so is one set of grandparents. My one sister and her husb. are from Canada ("ay"!) so we get a kick out of teasing about accents.

Laura does look wonderful but I just don't think she's the type of person to have any "work" done. I think she'd consider it a waste of time and money and I don't think George would let her do anything to alter her natural beauty. Besides, she does have a few distinguished lines, esp. around her eyes when she smiles!

I think you're right about her hair--she's said it's a treat to have her hair and make-up done for her. I think some of her beauty comes from within, from being at peace with herself, in love with her husband, loved by her husband, and at peace with her God.

All wonderful points - I think we've collectively solved the mystery! ;-)

Speaking of Laura's beauty, which just gets better and better, my sister always used to say that First Ladies always get better looking while President's looks go downhill.

She was thinking about Lady Bird, Betty Ford, Rosaly, etc.

We know of a couple of exceptions to that rule: the unmentionable one and our President, who looks great ... maybe just a bit older.
