New York Suburb Has First Case of Rare STD (Severe form of "The Jack")

"A Nassau County man has been diagnosed with a rare sexually transmitted disease, the first case in the county and one of seven around the country.

The Nassau County Department of Health has confirmed that the man has Lymphogranuloma Venereum, a form of chlamydia. The disease's symptoms can be serious — rectal pain and bleeding, and sores. The disease can also increase the risk of HIV (news - web sites) transmission.

Two men in New York City were diagnosed in early February with the disease, which can be treated with antibiotics if caught early. All three men are HIV positive, and had multiple partners among other men. Three cases have been identified in San Francisco, and one in Atlanta. Unprotected anal intercourse is the key risk factor for the spread of LGV, which is difficult to diagnose.

In the past two decades LGV has been uncommon in industrialized nations and primarily has been found in the tropics.

But in November, the National Institute for Public Health in the Netherlands said 92 cases of LGV among gay and bisexual men had been reported there over the preceding year, compared to the usual two or three cases a year. Officials said cases also have been found in the United Kingdom.

The LGV cases come at the same time that another New York City man was diagnosed with a case of highly drug-resistant HIV..."

An excerpt from "The Homosexual Fifth Column"

"The homosexual rights movement is not a cause based on science, social justice, or fairness toward a “persecuted minority.” Rather, it is the work of a devious and clandestine fifth column that seeks to undermine the moral values in place in America since the founding of the Republic. Its beginnings can be traced to the infamous 1973 decision made by the American Psychiatric Association (APA) to strike homosexuality from the officially approved list of psychiatric illnesses.

From Illness to Interest Group

Prior to the APA decision, homosexual persons were considered to be emotionally disturbed and lacking in capacity to develop normal heterosexual relations. In his book, Homosexuality and the Politics of Truth, psychiatrist Jeffrey Satinover discusses how this change came about:

How did this occur? Normally a scientific consensus is reached over the course of many years, resulting from the accumulated weight of many properly designed studies. But in the case of homosexuality, scientific research has only now just begun (c.1996), years after the question was decided…The APA vote to normalize homosexuality was driven by politics, not science. Even sympathizers acknowledged this…the leadership of a homosexual faction within the APA planned [in 1970] a “systematic effort to disrupt the annual meetings of the American Psychiatric Association”.

The APA decision, therefore, was not based on rigorous scientific discovery, but on hardball backroom politics engineered by a cabal of homosexual activists who pushed their agenda through intimidation and deception. Other medical professional organizations meekly fell in line and sodomy suddenly became an officially acknowledged alternative lifestyle whose practitioners were considered to be born with unalterable homosexual attractions. Thus, any therapy employed by a psychiatrist or psychologist intended to change a person’s sexual orientation was declared to be unethical.

Armed with this newly gained acceptability, homosexual activists were able to infiltrate the media, academia, industry, government, and even the church with a message geared toward “tolerance.” They framed the debate over this issue in the context of a scientifically identified, oppressed minority, victimized by the prejudice of a society dominated by irrational religious values.

This strategy has proved so successful that homosexuality—i.e. sodomy and all its variations—must not only be tolerated, but accepted; not only accepted, but affirmed; not only affirmed, but promoted; and finally, not only promoted, but codified into law with appropriate penalties for exhibiting “intolerance” or “hate” toward the practice or its practitioners.

The astonishing success of the homosexual rights movement has, in large part, come about because the debate has been controlled by well-placed homosexual activists whose shameless work of propaganda has flown under the radar of the typical American citizen..."

"The Public Schools

Ex-gay messages have no place in our nation’s public schools. A line has been drawn. There is no “other side” when you’re talking about lesbian, gay and bisexual students. ~ Kevin Jennings, Executive Director of the Gay Lesbian Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

Mr. Jennings made the above statement upon the release of a 1999 GLSEN publication, Just the Facts About Sexual Orientation and Youth, which was mailed to almost 15,000 school district superintendents across the country. GLSEN said the publication was “prompted by concerns that school personnel were receiving inaccurate information on the issue of sexual orientation and how to address it best with students.” The statement strongly urges educators and school administrators to reject efforts to bring ex-gay messages into the nation’s schools.

GLSEN is certainly aware that homosexual attraction is neither innate nor immutable; the fact that homosexuality can be overcome is well documented by the personal experiences of thousands of individuals who have successfully left the lifestyle. Nevertheless, it is GLSEN’s intended purpose to show children from K-12 that same sex attraction is normal. Any suggestion that one can change his/her sexual orientation, GLSEN claims, is fruitless and unethical and has no place in the public schools.

Mr. Jennings efforts were recently rewarded by the National Education Association—the powerhouse 2.7 million-member union that represents most U.S. teachers—when the organization presented him with the 2004 Virginia Uribe Award for Creative Leadership in Human Rights.

Critics of his selection pointed out that Mr. Jennings was the keynote speaker at a GLSEN conference in 2000 at Tufts University where Massachusetts Department of Education HIV/AIDS coordinators discussed with teenage students ways to perform various homosexual acts. This event became known as the notorious “fistgate scandal,” and the controversy it raised over the exposure to children of vulgar and disturbingly graphic descriptions of homosexual acts is still reverberating in Massachusetts.

The National Education Association has been promoting gay, lesbian, bi-sexual, and transgender affirmation in the public schools for many years, through such initiatives as recognizing sexual orientation as a protected “civil right” for both students and staff; developing sex education classes to include information on the “diversity of sexual orientations,” and teaming with homosexual rights groups to promote gay-oriented “Back to School” programs.

With the help of the NEA, the 1999 gay-friendly video, It’s Elementary, was shown in classrooms throughout the nation. In discussing the video, then president of the NEA, Bob Chase, said

Schools cannot be neutral when we’re dealing with issues of human dignity and human rights. I’m not talking about tolerance. I’m talking about acceptance. It’s Elementary is a great resource for parents, teachers, and community leaders working to teach respect and responsibility to America’s children.

Regrettably, while parents continue to entrust the education and social development of their children to the public school system, the educators are surreptitiously encouraging the children to explore a lifestyle that most parents find repulsive and unnatural, a lifestyle whose promotion is totally inappropriate in primary and secondary schools. At the same time, messages about persons who have overcome the homosexual lifestyle are not tolerated in NEA-dominated public schools..."

An excerpt from "HIV/AIDS: How to Roll Back the Rising Tide"

"My friend Cal Thomas, the syndicated columnist, recently recalled the slights hurled by the homosexual lobby against those who have talked about the need for self-control as a key weapon in the fight against AIDS.

For more than two decades those who preached to people engaging in risky homosexual sex that "they should stop doing what they are doing because it harms them and others got them labeled 'homophobic.' Not many were able to stand up to such condemnations and so they mostly remained silent.

People who refused to change their risky behavior blamed the Reagan Administration for 'not doing enough' to fight AIDS." An often fatal disease once concentrated in the homosexual community now has spread to heterosexuals, too.

The results of forty years of sexual 'freedom' are in and it is time we start asserting that what we really need to stem the rise of HIV infections is not more research dollars but exactly what Milloy prescribed - abstinence. Until our society comes to grip with the fact that promiscuous sex outside marriage puts people at severe risk of contracting HIV infections we will be a nation blind to reality.

Milloy's prescription of abstinence is one for the entire country. Abstinence - the most effective way to prevent Sexually Transmitted Diseases -- may be rooted in morality but there certainly is a very practical benefit given that no promiscuous sex equals no illegitimate pregnancy, no unwanted child, no STD..."

An excerpt from A Captive Audience

"Curriculum

While literature and videos see frequent use in classrooms, systematic curricula specifically addressing homosexuality is a fast growing phenomenon, particularly after a spate of new pro-gay bills signed into law in California (Capitol Resource Institute, 2001). Some curricula are nothing but suggestions for classroom discussion, such as Addressing the Matthew Shepard Tragedy in the Classroom, Is Everyone Protected by the Bill of Rights?, or Why We Need A Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) History Month. Others are classroom readers, such as Becoming Visible: A Reader in Gay and Lesbian History for High School & College Students (GLSEN, 2001a).

Some creative curricula take advantage of seasons or holidays, such as For Valentine's Day: Talking About Love and Marriage and LGBT History Month Resources Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Rights: A Human Rights Perspective. Others build on current events, such as A Lesson Exploring Gays in the Military. Curricula written for various disciplines include McCarthyism and the Witch-Hunt Mentality, What Can Biology Teachers Do To Help?, and a Language Arts/Health Education Unit entitled The Same Sex Marriage Debate. While many curricula are written for middle or high school, one curriculum is billed as "Age appropriate responses for Kindergarten and Elementary School: Advice to Teachers: Tinky Winky in the Classroom" (GLSEN, 2001a).

Historically, such curricula have met with opposition from parents and conservative groups. For example, when Santa Fe, New Mexico public schools implemented an "anti-homophobia" curriculum in which homosexuality, transexuality, and transgenderism are normalized, parents and local religious leaders strongly criticized the district (Heil, 2001). Likewise, conservative groups in California vociferously denounced the curriculum, Healthy Relationships: A Violence-Prevention Curriculum (Anonymous, 1994), because of erroneous or vague information contained therein, such as "a significant percentage of the population is gay..." or "One out of four families have a lesbian or gay in their immediate family" (p. 94)..."

Additional documnetation of GLSEN curricular materials posted here and here.

Growing Up with a Lesbian Mom Pt.1

"The American Academy of Pediatrics says that children of homosexual partners fare no worse than children of heterosexual married couples. And although talk-show host Rosie O'Donnell says she's a good parent, she herself has said that her adopted children would be better off with a mom and a dad. On top of that, the Family Research Institute of Colorado Springs reports that a third of the 57 children of homosexual parents they surveyed, had engaged in homosexuality. Regardless, no statistic can tell the real story like somone who has actually lived through the expericne of having grown up with a lesbian mother. Our guest today is one of those people, listen in as she tells her story."

Growing Up With a Lesbian Mother Pt.2

"Did you hear this? 95% of all problems children of homosexual parents face are attributed to the homosexual parents. That's according to a new study conducted by the Family Research Institute. Yet, the American Academy of Pediatrics and gay adoption advocates like Rosie O'Donnel, continue to try to convince the rest of us that kids fare just as well growing up in a home of a gay couple than they would in a traditional mother / father home. We talk to someone who knows first-hand, listen in!"

Child of a Lesbian

"At 11, his parents were divorced. Soon after, his mother sought the friendship and counsel of a nun, who seduced her into the homosexual lifestyle. Some call it "gay", but ask the average child of a homosexual parent and they'll call it anything but "gay". Don't believe in the power of God to change lives? You will after hearing this story. Listen in!"

Camp Intern Fired After Discussing Lesbianism With Students

"A 22-year-old camp intern was fired after it was discovered she discussed her lesbian experiences with about 60 sixth-grade girls, San Diego television station KGTV reported.

While some parents say that's enough, others are thinking twice about sending their kids to camp.

Alpine Unified School District administrators confirmed that at a sixth-grade camp last month, some of the students were using the word lesbian in a derogatory way. Officials said the camp intern who talked to them about it went too far.

The intern discussed her lesbian experiences with about 60 sixth-grade girls.

Katy Woodward, the principal at Joan MacQueen Middle School, immediately sent home a letter that told the parents of those girls that a camp intern had "an inappropriate conversation with your child." She said the topic of the conversation was "lesbianism" and "we encourage you to talk to your child."

The County Board of Education is reviewing training procedures, the station reported.

San Diego County Board of Education spokesman Jim Esterbrooks said, "They go through more than 80 hours of training and are instructed explicitly that they are talking to students and should imagine that those students' parents are sitting along side the youngsters."

Parent Penni Cody said, "I'm sure the administration of the school had nothing to do with it and they seem to take care of issues that come up that are important to the parents."

Many of the parents the station spoke with had not heard about the incident because it did not involve their child. Others said they will think twice about school camps.

Parent Traci Roberts said, "There's just too many things out in the world now that I don't choose to have my child exposed to, and this is one of them."

We Are Family Video To Be Delivered To 61,000 Elementary Schools March 11

"If you have children or grandchildren in elementary school, you need to know about a new video being sent to 61,000 elementary schools. The “We Are Family” video will be delivered on March 11. It is produced by the We Are Family Foundation (WAFF), a pro-homosexual organization. Homosexual organizations have long used the schools to promote homosexuality.

When AFA alerted supporters about the video in our January AFA Journal, WAFF threatened to sue AFA for exposing the pro-homosexual content on WAFF’s Web site. WAFF attorneys threatened to sue us unless we recanted our statements, removed the article from our Web site, and issue an apology to WAFF. We refused. Thus far, WAFF has not sued AFA, primarily because they had no cause.

The AFA Journal article focused on a video project involving the 1970s hit song, “We Are Family,” co-written by WAFF’s founder, Nile Rodgers. The video features over 100 characters from children’s television. A teacher’s guide will accompany the DVD to encourage discussions after children view “We Are Family.” The video will also air over the Disney Channel, PBS and Nickelodeon on March 11.

Under the guise of promoting tolerance for other categories such as race, gender, age, disabilities, etc., the WAFF Web site openly promoted homosexuality as a normative lifestyle. There was a “Tolerance Pledge” that encouraged signers to pledge respect for homosexuality, and work against “ignorance, insensitivity and bigotry.”

While everyone should promote tolerance, a promotion of homosexuality should not be thrust on little children and unexpecting parents. It is absolutely wrong for schools to be used to promote the homosexual lifestyle.

While there is nothing questionable in the video itself, the site included a teacher’s guide to use with the children to discuss the video that aggressively normalized same-gender attraction and same-sex marriage. There was also a recommended reading list for children and adults that included such illustrated children’s books as the lesbian tome, “Heather Has Two Mommies,” which discusses artificial insemination, and “Daddy’s Roommate,” which included an illustration of two men in bed together.

The WAFF Web site ran a list of “allies” that virtually ran the gamut of homosexual advocacy groups: Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation; Gay, Lesbian & Straight Education Network; Human Rights Campaign; National Gay and Lesbian Task Force; and Parents, Family and Friends of Lesbians & Gays.

Following publication of the AFA article, the controversial materials on the WAFF Web site were immediately removed from public access. The only exception was the tolerance pledge, which was altered from its original format. Evidently WAFF did not want parents to know what was on their site and in the teacher’s guide..."

Homosexual Acts Defy Design of the Body, Immunological Journal Finds By Frank York

June 9, 2004 -- Susan Brinkmann, an investigative journalist, is currently writing a six-part series on homosexuality called "Homosexuality: The Untold Story - A Dangerous New Diversity," for the Catholic Standard & Times, the Archdiocese newspaper of Philadelphia.

In Part 3 of her series on the health consequences of homosexual behavior, Brinkmann writes: "The American public has been left largely in the dark about the extent of the medical problems associated with homosexual activity because of the influence of pro-homosexual political agendas. Some even believe they are being 'compassionate' by not disclosing vital health information for fear of offending homosexuals."

The facts, however, tell a disturbing story about the dangers of homosexual behavior. Brinkmann points out the following:

Brinkmann also notes that a high number of homosexuals appear to have been molested as children compared to the general population. In one study, the American Journal of Public Health found that 39% of males who have same-sex attraction had been abused by homosexual men.

The author notes that from "an immunological point of view, the body itself considers homosexual acts to be disordered. For instance, there are substances in seminal fluid called 'immuno-regulatory macromolecule' that send out 'signals' that are only understood by the female body, which will then permit the 'two in one flesh' intimacy required for human reproduction. When deposited elsewhere, these signals are not only misunderstood, but cause sperm to fuse with whatever somatic body cell they encounter. This fusing is what often results in the development of cancerous malignancies. (See "Sexual Behavior and Increased Anal Cancer," Immunology and Cell Biology 75 (1977); 181-183.)

Part 2: Known causes of same-sex attraction
Part 3: Health risks of the homosexual lifestyle

Here's an older article that does an excellent job of documenting how GLSEN, the NEA, and the major homosexual activist organizations work together at the national level to promote their agenda.

Supporting documentation for reply 408 in this thread:

An excerpt from "Gay advocates in education ponder a George Bush future" by By Peter Cassels, Bay Windows staff, Thursday, December 14, 2000

"... Cullen, 32, joined GLSEN eight months ago and just recently moved into its newly opened Office of Public Policy in the nation’s capital. Headquartered in New York City, the advocacy organization believed it needed a Washington presence to more effectively achieve its goals of eliminating discrimination based on sexual orientation in the nation’s 16,000 local school districts. Cullen and her office will identify federal, state and local public policy strategies and expand GLSEN’s work with Congress, the U.S. Department of Education and mainstream lobbying organizations, such as the National Education Association (NEA) and the National School Boards Association (NSBA). The move also places GLSEN in close proximity to prominent gay advocacy organizations it works with: the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force, the Gay and Lesbian Victory Fund, the Log Cabin Republicans and the National Stonewall Democratic Federation...

In 1965, Congress passed the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA), which today provides seven to eight percent of local school funding. The Department of Education develops policy and administers those programs. “That’s where the impact can be dramatic,” Cullen notes. The department produces a raft of resources, such as printed materials and teacher and staff training programs and seminars on a variety of subjects affecting education, from improving the quality of schools to implementing federal anti-discrimination policies for students.

According to GLSEN spokesperson Jim Anderson, “any time the federal government can include sexual orientation in resource materials is extremely helpful to us when we go into local communities to make our case for expanding policies to include it.” Even though federal statutes do not currently protect sexual orientation, the department does sometimes include reference to it in materials and trainings. “Its Office of Civil Rights has comprehensive inclusive policies,” Cullen notes. “It did some work around hate crimes in the past few years and its language did include sexual orientation...”

She emphasizes that GLSEN doesn’t plan on developing and implementing its national strategies alone. “There’s a wealth of like-minded organizations that have offices here,” she points out. “The HRC has the lobbying force and a reputation on Capitol Hill. There’s the National Youth Advocacy Coalition, which represents community-based organizations working with GLBT youth. The American Psychological Association works with school counselors and psychologists.”

Then there’s the NEA, a powerful lobbying force: “Bob Chase, its president, spoke at our national conference in Chicago this year. He took a lot of heat, including hate mail from NEA members, for doing so. And, we’ll work with local school boards to promote our goals. From what I can tell, the NSBA has good folks and forward-thinking proposals.” The 2001 conference will be held in D.C., enhancing GLSEN’s visibility..."
