I hate to say it, but when I read that she can't wait to get back out on the water, I got this image of the Black Knight in Monty Python's Holy Grail.

She'd probably laugh her head off at that, don't you think?
She seems VERY secure about herself.

I hope she would, I certainly don't mean anything by it, but there are still sharks out there and such a thing would obviously be very funny in a comedic setting.

While it may not be a Christian story per se, it has been emphasized in nearly every interview and article about her that HER FAITH is what has sustained her. Her whole attitude is one of peace and if they never mentioned that she was a Christian at all, it would still come across loud and clear in her demeanor and OWN words IN SPITE of the media.

Any young lady who would let herself be photographed without her arm right after an accident like that, certainly wouldn't be offended by that scene from Monty Python.
In fact, what high praise to be compared to his "never give up" attitude!

OK, should have read the whole thing before posting. Homeschooling has nothing to do with her loss or abilities. However, when it comes to rehabing from a trauma, it opens up better opportunities for therapy time due to not being tied down to a rigid school schedule.

Ever surf Kauai? I'm an old coldwater guy myself and I've been hitting the Caribbean since '69. I finally got to the Sandwich Islands ten years ago...way past my prime. We found the Garden Isle our favorite with waves just about everywhere....if I only had my youth!

I went to Hawaii after High School graduation with my family and I surfed in Waikiki and also in Lahania on Maui. My favorite isle is Kauai, but I did not get to surf there; we did get to dive all over the island. It is a beautiful place.

Watching her now on MSNBC. Very childish in her conversation skills.
