One other thought - maybe CAIR decided to raise a "stink" about this because there has been so little evidence of anti-Muslim sentiment and they were loosing their funding and their main attack against US foreign policy. Got to keep the pot stirred to keep the funds flowing.

Shalom.

More PC crap. [pun intended]

Certain people can find "offended feelings" in anything, if they look hard enough. Jesse Jackson is a prime example. Now, certain members of Cair seem bent on doing the same.

Cair is using this as a veiled attempt to take possession of the crescent moon symbol and make it represent Islam. Then, they would start attacking any non-Islamic use of it--whether in ads or decoration or whatever.

Any time you see a "complaint" from an organized group, think--AGENDA. They all have one, though it is not always overt or obvious.

Those subtle agendas succeed because of PC. PC accusations tend to make people not want to confront the issue, but rather acquiesce and give in--to avoid creating problems.

Cair complaining about B.C. brings to mind the question: How many other elements of American society and culture has CAIR complained about in the last 2 years?

The reader noted that the cartoon contained six crescent moons -- three in the sky, and three on the outhouse door

FALSE. It shows ONE in the sky, and ONE in the door.

This was such a biased and poorly-written article:

Many Jewish readers were outraged, claiming Hart was making the argument that Christianity had extinguished Judaism as a "better" religion. Hart denied it, protesting that the cartoon was intended to honor both religions. To many, his explanation seemed hollow.

Looks like the author just got off the high school paper: "Spring dance enjoyed by some."

And Hart's syndicator doesn't help:

Newcombe said; "Why would he suddenly become Hercule Poirot, secretly planting clues?"

Hey, dimwit, I've never read Agatha Christie and even I know that Poirot didn't plant clues.

This was the sentence that enraged me:

A fair question. Maybe because he had never tried anything this incendiary before?

I can't believe that the author put this in the article.

And then they bring out this guy:

This is Marshall Blonsky, professor of semiotics at the New School in New York. Blonsky is an expert in the interpretation of signs and symbols.

Let me guess, he spent his college days trying to figure out what "American Pie" meant.

Like many cartoon strips, Johnny Hart's "B.C." often has pedestrian, cliched jokes. But every once in a while he shows brilliant moves -- sometimes accompanied by lamentable social insensitivity.

The Washington Post should have fired this guy yesterday.

It would only be anti-muslim if the middle panel bore a sound balloon *frrrtttt ploop*
And then the last the caveman saying: "Mohammed? Is that you?"

Would have been funnier, too.

These guys hate Johnny Hart. They got a strip of his banned by most newspapers a while ago. They want to stop him from cartooning all together if they can.

And, of course it stinks in there.

No one is supposed to say it for some crazy reason.

a vulgar defamation of Islam into the comics pages last week

It is my firm belief that Islam most recently defamed itself in the most vulger way when it "sneaked" 19 of its adherents onto American airplanes and murdered 3000 in 2001.

This is as bad as the Boston Globe's Derrick Z. Jackson, who see racism in a black and white newspaper page, simply because there is more white paper than black ink.

Or avoid using an outhouse.

In Defense of the Constitution

Anti-CAIR Press Release 031/03

November 20, 2003

- Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Islamophobe?

Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Islamophobe?

On 19 November, 2004, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), issued a press release (link not available) calling on nationally syndicated talk show host Dr. Laura Schlessinger to apologize for
comments she made on her radio talk program.

To quote part of the “press release”:

“The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said it received a number of complaints from Muslims who said Schlessinger’s remarks crossed the line from legitimate commentary on
terrorism to Islamophobic bigotry.

The Offensive comments came in response to a mother who asked whether her 16-year-old daughter should take part in a Catholic High School class field trip to a local
mosque. The purpose of the field trip was to have the students in a “moral themes” class learn how “Muslims are treated” in America.

Schlessinger said in her response: “This is a class on morals. What is the point of going to a mosque?...You’re joking of course…How many Americans have tortured and murdered Muslims…I think you ought
to stand up against this class and this teacher. This is despicable. You tell him you are willing to go to the mosque only if it is one that has done its best to route out terrorists in its midst…instead of
complaining…I am horrified that you would let her go…I am sick and tired of all the Arab-American groups whining and complaining about some kind of treatment…What culture and what religion were all the
murderers of 9/11…they murdered us…. That’s the culture you want your daughter to learn about?

“Dr. Laura’s anti-Muslim tirade demonstrates a level of hostility toward Islam that should be of concern to her program’s audience and sponsors,” said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper.”

Mr. Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR Communications Director, has a selective memory when it comes to Islam. In the past, CAIR has claimed that 70% of American Muslims want Wahhabi instruction in their mosques.
Wahhabi Islam is a dangerous cult that is bigoted, intolerant and strongly supports the terror murdering of non-Muslims and non-Wahhabi Muslims.

So, this begs the question: “Is Dr. Schlessinger an Islamophobe for recommending that a mother carefully screen a mosque before her daughter is allowed to visit?” Or is Dr. Schlessinger simply using
common sense?

Since you cannot tell a Wahhabi-supporting mosque from a non-Wahhabi-supporting mosque, what do you do? Do you err on the side of caution and refuse your child permission to visit, or do you urge the
mother to check the mosque for Wahhabi cult influences first? As the first duty of every parent is to protect their child, ACAIR supports Dr. Schlessinger’s recommendation to the mother to check the mosque
first, as a means of verifying that it is indeed a place of worship and not a meeting place for Wahhabi terrorists plotting the murders of more Americans. To do otherwise would be to expose the child to Islamist,
anti-American propaganda.

ACAIR is pleased to answer any questions from the public and press.

Your comments, suggestions and tips are appreciated and all e-mail is read.

What Johnny Hart did is just awful!

I suspect the next logical step is for CAIR to declare a Jihad to kill him for his insulting of Islam.
