Not long ago (within the last 6 - 8 months, IIRC) there was found off the western coast of India - in the mouth of a large river, can't remember which one - remains of a city that has been dated at 9500 years ago.

That would mean the sea levels used to be lower, which means some of the polar ice caps melted raising the level of this river, too (flooding inland). Why didn't the ancients do anything to stop global warming?
