My request if much like another one on the board. Our
adult son also seems to be trying to cut us out of his
life. Mostly doesn't return phone calls. Haven't seen him
in over a year. Difficult situation. I can't travel and
he isn't coming home to visit and just avoids us.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks that You know the very heart of every parent and child. We know the blessings when everything is in a right relationship, and we know the heartache when it is not.

Creator God, I pray that You would intervene that this son would find his way home, even while his parents wait day and night, watching for his return. Thank You for the hope of the Prodigal Son, wayward for so long, but finally looking toward home and those who love him. Give to this beloved son a longing to hear the voices of those who gave him life ... give to him a longing to be near the things of home. If there be anything in his life that hinders this, draw him from it, O Lord, I pray. Grant reassurance and comfort to his parents, for we know that You will search for that one lost sheep and that You will bring him back into the fold.
