***Hispanic-heavy states like Arizona and Nevada, which will be up for grabs.***

Arizona used to be a Rock-Ribbed GOP state. But thanks to illegal immigration, AZ is in play for the RATS. Open borders will be the death of the GOP.

My suspicion about the discussions within the White House during the summer 2001 were more looking to the long-term future for Republicans and the Latino vote rather than specific gains in the Latino vote for 2004.

----------------------

Judging from the low percentage of voter turnout, future presidential elections will be held within a pool of 412 gays, 373 lesbians, and 347 Mexicans with the remainder of the country staying home in disgust and dispair. Keep it up, Georgie.

President Bush is trying to push up his Hispanic vote to 40 percent in 2004 from between 24 and 35 percent in 2000, depending on various exit polls.

Think again, Jorge. This issue is very hot and will not sit well with your base. What will you gain if you increase 5% and alienate 45%? It's past time you convinced us you give a dam about jobs for Americans.

"2004 is going to hinge on Hispanic voters and women because these are the open-minded, independent, swing votes and look at the states we're vying for," Sanchez said...

Yeah, right. The hispanics want one thing only. Tax dollars and the right to live as criminals in the U.S.

Here is the open mindedness of the hispanic people.

During the last election this forum was very much aware that there was one single and glaring issue in GWB's platform that we were generally opposed to.

That single issue has been put on hold by far grater issues - notably a couple of large buildings and 3000 innocents.

Well and good, the president is properly occupied with a war on terror and the 'reforms' have not taken place. A large and growing segment of the republican party is being heard in opposition to illegal immigration and overly free legal immigration.

It seems that we would be best served by continued and increased pressure to reverse the trend toward erasing our borders than to run around promising to toss our next votes away. Those who "have left the plantation", those counting themselves out of the republican rolls, only increase the odds that what they don't want will come to pass.

There is another election coming 'round, I still don't like GWB's positions on immigration, I am glad to see more reports, more actions, and more noise made concerning the continuing invasion. I am happy to support Tancredo in any effort he may dare. But I'm damned if I'll toss my vote out, possibly electing Hillary by default, just to make that statement.
