"... a devastating twin car bomb attack that killed at least 27 people and wounded nearly 450 others."And that's what Turkey gets after refusing to let us invade Iraq through their country.
The wages of appeasement.

in efforts to avoid letting the country slip too far to the left or to the religious right. Clever how that ding against religion just snuck in there.
Shalom.

Lesson number two: when you have a language and cultural advantage that prevents your opponent from gathering intelligence, don't piss off your own kind.

When I was stationed in San Diego a Turk ship requested permission of SOPA to "hang a sailor from the yardarm". SOPA thought it was a joke but responded that permission was denied. The Turks then got underway and when they hit the three mile limit, stopped and strung him up in sight of shore.
Nice object lesson.

"We will continue to attack Masonic targets ... The Muslims are not alone," warned a Turkish speaking man to a domestic news agency. And on Thursday, they struck again. Can someone explain this statement?

I dunno about this. If Al Qaeda's purpose is to disrupt the region, they could hardly do better than to piss off the Turks bad enough that they'll pile into the fight. The Turks might take advantage of the situation to fight the Kurds, who are very much on our side. They might use the attacks as an excuse to take over some of Iraq that they have long disputed.

We will continue to attack Masonic targets What? The Freemasons? The Knights Templar? Whatever they have, even double-wrapped aluminum hats probably won't do the job.

"They might use the attacks as an excuse to take over some of Iraq that they have long disputed." More likely, the Turks will use the attacks as an excuse to beat the crap (or worse) out of every terrorist they can lay their hands on.
