So Woody Hayes dies and goes to heaven. God himself meets Woody at the gates and shows him to where he’ll spend eternity. It’s a nice little bungalow on a hillside, a front porch with a rocker, and a flag hanging over the eaves with a big “O” and a buckeye on it. Woody settles in and is quite pleased until he looks out and before him sees atop the highest ridge in heaven an enormous mansion fronted by a huge veranda commanding sweeping views of all of heaven. Along the railing stream numerous billowing “Michigan” flags. Woody is nonplussed and stammers to God “This is a great place you’ve given me and I’m grateful and all but why does Bo Schembechler have such a nicer spread?” God says “Oh, that’s not Bo’s house, Woody. That’s mine!” True story.
