Some day maybe someone will figure out how to put the Linux package together with a browser, and make it easy to install. When that finally happens, we can kiss all the Microsoft garbage goodbye. Until then, these lawsuits prevent the public from getting a really good alternative.

Try out
Fedora. It installs easier than Windows, has at least two easy-to-use browsers included (though I installed
Firebird instead).
The only thing keeping people back is lack of knowledge or inertia.

Indeed, $CO is in deep trouble. Even Darl's keynote and Sontag's discussion forum on Tuesday both failed to elevate the stock price. The partnership with Boies' firm has confirmed the transformation from a (lousy) software company to a (lousy) litigation house. They're in trouble with the discovery process in the IBM case, they're trying to stall the RedHat case;
and they appear to be gearing up to sue some "corporate" Linux user, attempt to re-try the AT&T/BSDI case, and bully Novell over the SuSE deal.
Sounds like the lawyers are calling the shots here, and Darl is going along with it.
They're almost out of friends now, they were almost out of money (down to $13M or so I hear) before the $50M infusion from the friends of Paul Allen and/or Bill & Melinda.
The early December hearing is gonna be a hoot. I hope IBM moves for dismissal.

They accidently left Nick Danger off the Winner list. :-)

The end game in the SCO fiasco is at hand... LMAO! They wish! Even Linux fanatics like Vaughan-Nicols at EWEEK know this is nowhere near over.

Do you like fedora better than enterprise wkstn beta for a desktop?
To: ShadowAce
Great stuff!
I don't want to belabor the point, but let's all remember, one cannot spell FIASCO without SCO.

You can get Fedora or Mandrake for free by download, or for modest cost (a few dollars) from ebay. Either of these will install automatically, intuitively, and both include Mozilla, the Netscape browser I'm posting with right now.

Once they get that double mouse click problem fixed I'll consider migrating. :-)
To: Flashman_at_the_charge
I am confused. I wasn't aware of a Linux double click problem.

The time stamps are different. I suspect an operator problem. ;-)

Its entire $15.3 million in source code revenue for the year to date has come from Sun and Microsoft. Hypothetically speaking:
After it's all over, if SCO has less success in court than Judicial Watch -- isn't this funding by Sun and Microsoft illegal?
They're using a proxy to try and sue competitors to prevent competition from an up and coming product line.
Isn't that exactly the type of monopolistic behavior, exactly the kind of assault on the free market, that Anti-trust is all about?

I haven't tried the Enterprise version yet. I'm hoping to convince my school's administration to let me replace our exchange server with it next summer, though.
