Ten Commandments Rally in Little Rock Joins a Nation-Wide Effort

Little Rock , Ark. Christian Leadership Academy and the Constitution Party of Arkansas are organizers of a Ten Commandments rally that will be held on the steps of the Capitol this Saturday (Nov. 22) at 1:00 P.M.   This rally will be held simultaneously with other state rallies across the nation to show support for the Ten Commandments, a belief in God as the foundation of our country, and as a protest against judicial over-reach.

These rallies were inspired by the events taking place in Alabama . In 2001, Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore placed a granite marker with the Ten Commandments inscribed on it in the state courthouse but was ordered to remove the marker by over-reaching federal courts. He has recently been removed from his office as a result of his courageous stand. The rallies are to show that Americans do believe in the values supported by the Ten Commandments and are ready to make a stand against judges who place their own opinions above both the original intent of the Constitution, and the Word of God.

Speakers for this event will include State Senator Jim Holt (Republican) of Washington County, who has recently declared his candidacy for the United States Senate in 2004 ;  Mayor Frank Gilbert (Constitutionalist) of Tull in Grant County ; Mark Moore (Chairman of the Constitution Party of Arkansas); and Dr. Alfred Harrell (President of Christian Leadership Academy).  Vocalist Taylor Galloway will also be present for a performance at this event.

State Senator Jim Holt led the fight for bringing integrity to Arkansas Government. He sponsored a successful bill that demanded transparency in political party reporting requirements.  This legislation helped uncover financial irregularities. He also sponsored a bill that mandated corrections of school textbooks that used known falsehoods in support of the theory of evolution. Jim was a former intelligence officer in the military.

Mayor Frank Gilbert has first hand experience with over-reaching courts. He was the Executive Director of the Federal Term limits drive that was approved by the citizens of Arkansas , only to be overturned by the courts. Mayor Gilbert was a former Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Arkansas before becoming a member of the Constitution Party.

Mark Moore is currently serving as the Chairman of the Constitution Party of Arkansas. He is a science teacher for Pea Ridge Schools in Benton County . Mark was a former state vice-chairman of the Young Republicans of Arkansas. He is a former Naval Officer serving on U.S. warships home ported on both East and West Coasts .

Dr. Alfred Harrell is the founder and President of Christian Leadership

Academy. He earned a doctorate in leadership from Arkansas State University in 1996. His dissertation emphasis was in technology transfer. He also has expertise in public relations. Dr. Harrell is currently teaching leadership, communication, and theatre on the college level. He is very active in developing Christian leaders who can understand the urgency of taking a strong stand on important issues.

Vocalist Taylor Galloway has toured with the Christian Band Kaleo around the region and is featured on a number of CDs. She has performed for both state and national Constitution Party conventions.
