French paedophile suspect flees Iran

TEHRAN, Nov 19 (AFP) - France's foreign ministry has has alerted the French judiciary to a case of paedophilia allegedly committed in Iran by a French national, the French embassy here announced Wednesday.

In a brief statement, the embassy said that "based on information obtained by this embassy and in virtue of Article 40 of the Penal Code of Procedure, the ministry of foreign affairs on November 14 alerted French judicial authorities to a case of paedophilia in Iran concerning a French national."

The code's article referred to in the statement obliges public servants to alert the judiciary to any offences. Paedophilia committed overseas by French national can also be punishable in French courts.

The embassy gave no further details on the case.

However a number of sources in Tehran, none of whom can be identified, revealed that last month a French man working for a private company was arrested by Iranian police while engaged in paedophilia, but managed to flee the country and return to France.

For legal reasons, AFP cannot give his name or that of the company he worked for.

Sources said that after being held by police overnight, the man managed to secure his release and immediately left the Islamic republic, where paedophilia can be punished by execution. It remains unclear how the man managed to get himself out of police custody.

Photographs of the man engaged in paedophilia have also been circulated by email coupled with an apparent warning for him to leave Iran. The source of the email or the photographs, and exactly when they were taken, remain unclear.

Nobody in the Iranian judiciary, police or foreign ministry could be reached for comment, but a French judicial source said the matter was now being investigated by Paris prosecutors.

It could be transferred to the prosecution service closer to the man's home in the south of France.

One of the things that seperates us from the French. At least Michael Jackson has the decency to make his own money. The French Kiddie-plookers can't understand why the government won't provide them with the pornography.

I wouldn't be suprised if Jackson doesn't end up in France as well. He and Polanski can have a tea party and invite the kiddies.

Good to know that most Iranians dislike France as we do.
Becuase French helped Exiled Leader Khomeini back in 1979 to return to Iran in order to overthrow the late Shah of Iran.
That is why many many of them dislike French.
