As long as W. stays in the White House, the USA will not teeter... We will fight- as hard as we can, for however long it takes.

We shall go on to the end;
We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans;
We shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air;
We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be;
We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds;
We shall fight in the fields, and in the streets;
We shall fight in the hills;
We shall never surrender...
Winston Churchill, June 4, 1940 at the WSC House of Commons

Great speech...

I had read something on the Anglo-Saxon language and this speech was used as an example of the directness, brevity, and power of the language. All of the words (according to that article) were Anglo-Saxon, except for one - surrender, which has French origins. Ha!

We shall never surrender...

The last words of that famous speech;

"..the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old."

Churchill realized that it would probably require the United States (new world) to save Great Britian and Europe (old world).

Winston was right the United States did rescue the old world which took almost 50 years. Now many hate us for it.
