As someone who grew up in Indiana, I don't know where most of the folks on this thread are getting their information.

The KKK isn't "active" in Indiana. The last KKK protest I saw in Fort Wayne featured ten clansmen surrounded by hundreds of people telling them to get out of town.

Go to southern IN, particularly those towns around Hoosier National Forest. They're still there.

As a newspaperman who covered downstate Illinois and southern Indiana fron 1970 and went to Journalism school in Indiana, I'd say you've missed a few things, particularly the 200+ Klansmen at the Shasta Mine site in Knox county around 1990, and the Klan entry of a float in the Vincennes Christmas parade around the same time. Once they started recruiting in the high schools, they tripled their numbers, and those who've stayed with them for the decade since then have been expanding their numbers annually. Rather than charge monetary membership fees, the recruitment oif one new member annually is expected. Even if your figure of *ten Clansmen* was correct, that works out to around 10,000 in the decade. I'd say it's closer to half that; they're picky, but also recruit in Indiana's prisons as the NLR gang followon to the Aryan Brotherhood, including at the federal Pen at Terre Haute and the Wabash Valley Correctional Facility at Carisle between Terre Haute and Vincennes.

That was Joe Gosciniak's bunch from Vevay, I'd bet. He likes TV talk shows, too. The real ones are a lot lower profile. Joe's bunch has been a lot busier around Cincinnati since the Over-the-Rhine area riots there a couple of years back.
