KKK in Indiana?

For years it hosted the largest number of klansmen in the world. It actually elected a governor in the 1930's. And I remember my (very racist) uncle telling me there are still parts of southern and central Indiana minorities are unwelcome (if you get my drift).

Husband's great-grandfather was from Southern Indiana. Klan was active then; however, it was more like a vigilante group that beat up on guys for abusing their wives, not so much anti-minority.

They are in Northern Indiana too and they apparently have frequent meetings.

Sad, but true, in my limited experience in southern Indiana. My sister lives outside a small town in southern Indiana that has almost no residents of any minority group.
