That's exactly what happened. My understanding is the DA's office and the Cops have been very incensed Jackson was able to buy his way out of these things. Not once, but several times. When the money crosses the table, the parents and children, shut up.

At the time, she said, she was reporting on allegations of child molestation against Michael Jackson. Pellicano was working as a private investigator for the entertainer.
Dimond said that at the time, she became suspicious that her calls were being recorded. She said she started working the Jackson case in August 1993, and "by Thanksgiving my phone was crackling
. I'd call a source and they'd say 'I knew you were going to call me
Anthony Pellicano told me,' " she said.

"When the money crosses the table, the parents and children, shut up. "
The reason the previous case against him was suspicious to be is because the parents were willing to settle for lots of money instead of having him put in jail. If it were YOUR child, would you let the guy just wlak for any amount of money?? I know I wouldn't settle for money and wouldn't stop until the perp was in jail. The fact that they took the money and ran makes me think they were just after some easy money.
