I worked in Jacksonville for a summer/fall the year after the crash. I rented a house out at Neptune Beach and one of Ronnie Van Zandt's cousins worked with us. We went over to see Ronnie's dad and other family a few times...paying homage for me sort of.

My aunt lived in Orange Park and then out at Switzerland on the River for 20 years. I still have a cousin who lives in San Marco area near downtown.

My aunt has a tan version of that snakeskin banded hat donated by Ronnie shortly before the crash that she won at Orange Park elementary during a raffle many years ago when Ronnie's children went there with her youngest.
