I'm impressed!

The violence done to the Constitution by those supporting a Federal Marriage Amendment will serve none of us well in the long run, and in the end, FMA will not pass.

The state has been involved, appropriately, in marriage for hundreds of years. It is a legal institution which is a support of a civilizing influence. Supporting the FMA should clarify why that was done in the first place.

Somewhere along the line, shots across the bow of the judiciary, such as FMA, may spark a sea change and curb their activism without necessarily having to pass.

In the very beginning of your post you say that anything the government touches gets ruined. I disagree. Good laws are good things. The problem is that we are running out of politicians and voters with the discernment to pass good laws.
